Europe: Day Two – Salisbury
Salisbury was the last place we visited before we hopped on the cruise ship. Such a lovely little town – I just loved all the flowers, they were in bloom everywhere.
Dan and I didn’t have very much time to really explore Salisbury like we would have liked, but what we did see was beautiful.
While in Salisbury, we had the opportunity to visit Salisbury Cathedral and see one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta.
One thing of note (and we were able to laugh about later)…my mom was feeling really nauseous all day. She wasn’t sure if it was because of something she ate or because she put her motion sickness patch (for the cruise ship) on too early.
After Dan and I viewed the Magna Carta, we explored the Cathedral grounds. When we caught up with my parents, Mom was sitting on a bench looking very pale. Dan said, “Mom, you look like you’re going to puke.”
It was like he gave her permission, she started to throw-up right there near the cathedral bench. Poor thing.
Needless to say, she did not join us for dinner on the ship that night.
When mom was feeling better the next day, we all had a good laugh about it. We will never forget our Salisbury Cathedral experience, that’s for sure.
