Altered Serving Tray

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

A lovely idea I picked up while playing with Paper at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique

Each of us who attended the National Scrapbook Day crop at PSB received a painted serving tray.

An idea PSB picked up from the lovely Altered Vintage Serving Tray created by Donna and posted on the Cosmo Cricket Blog.

There, at PSB, they had a beautiful sample for us to use to create our own version of the serving tray.

I ended up making a couple to give as mother’s day gifts.

On the first tray, I used the lovely Evangeline line from Cosmo Cricket.

They were surprisingly easy to make (considering that the lovely ladies at PSB had already painted the trays).

For the second tray, I used the new Nature Garden Collections from Prima, along with a little Pink Paislee.

I love, love, love the new ivory organza rose trim from Maya Roads.

And everything looks better with a few Prima flowers, don’t you think?

Now, I just need to find some more vintage serving trays, they make fabulous gifts, don’t you think?

Here’s a look at the original tray created by Donna:

Isn’t it lovely?

Check out Donna’s tray HERE on the Cosmo Cricket blog. And see PSB‘s version of Donna’s tray HERE.

Have a wonderful day!

Playing With Prima…

Sunday, May 13th, 2012

My Mom and Dad recently returned from a trip that lasted over 3 weeks.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of their amazing vacation photos to scrapbook (this photo was taken in Amsterdam).

I couldn’t resist loading up with Prima Flowers while at my recent crop at PSB.

I {heart} Prima.

I also made some handmade lollies using the Antique Book Paper from Bazzill…

I have lots of projects to share…if I could just find the time to be on my computer for more than 10 minutes.

Just have to get back into the swing of things after catching the cold from Hades, getting better, then traveling for a week directly afterwards. Do I mention the sinus infection I picked up from the allergies I was accosted with in California? Wait. I guess I just did.

Good news: I’m almost feeling like myself again.

I hope that you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I enjoyed some extra time goofing off with my children, we always have fun together.

xoxo, Christie
