Back To The Cabin {My Mind’s Eye}

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

I have been browsing a lot of blogs lately looking for inspiration, trying to get my scrappy-mojo back.

Have you noticed my lack of post over the summer? Yes, I’ve been traveling, but during the days I’ve been home I’ve felt sort of…scrapped-out. This makes me sad because I LOVE to scrapbook. Love it. I’ve just been feeling like everything I create looks the same. Do you ever feel that way?

Anyway…back to the searching for inspiration. I was browsing the My Minds Eye blog and decided to join their “Blog Challenge #27″. The above layout is my take on their sketch (pictured below).

I blanket stitched around the background circle to give it a little “extra something”.

I still don’t quite have my mojo back; I’m getting there.

I’m currently working on a wedding mini for my friend Patrice, which is definitely helping with my mojo. I”ll share it with you along the way.

This weekend I’m off to Utah; We’re taking the kids to Lagoon on Saturday.

I’ll announce the Final Summer Stash Giveaway winner on Saturday night.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

May Arts Ribbon on Layouts + Our First 2011 Cabin Trip

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

WARNING: This is a photo heavy post.

In June May Arts Ribbon sponsored Scrap n’ Art magazine and I received a box packed full of GORGEOUS May Arts trims. I was more than ecstatic, I was over the moon!

Here are some layouts that I created using May Arts Ribbon.

“The Little Things”

I used May Arts ribbon and lace along with My Minds Eye paper.

“The Face of an Angel”

Using May Arts ribbon and Pink Paislee paper.

“Baking Bread”

Using May Arts ribbon and lace, Echo Park paper and I tried to hand bead on cardstock.

My family and I spent some of our 4th of July weekend in Island Park at the Crabtree Family Cabin, it’s such a beautiful place.

There were piggy back rides.

Playing in the gorgeous green grass.

Riding on the back of Uncle Larry’s golf cart.

I spy a butterfly…

A game of horseshoes.

Some mild kayaking.

And some canoeing…

And a lot of Aunt Christie following Cooper around.

Cooper = cute photos.

Cooper with his pregnant mommy. Nephew #2 on the way…

We had an eventful weekend, we even attended a Rodeo (my first) it was nuts!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful week!

Hello From Vegas!

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

We’re still in Vegas and still having fun!

_______________________________________________________________

While I’m away….

Here’s a little card I created using some My Minds Eye paper from ‘the stash’. There’s a bit of Shimmerz on the card…Anchor’s Away.

Here’s a little mini banner (it was hard to photograph). It reads:

LOVE TO CREATE

Each section of this banner is only 2 inches high. Definitely mini.

My sweet little Nephew, Cooper turned ONE on April fools day!

Cooper with his parents:

A sweet little family…

Just Another Simple Card…

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

I literally put this card together in 5 minutes.  It was a cinch! The “Simply Perfect In Every Way” is a pre-made title from My Minds Eye (Love it). The thick black ribbon makes the whole thing pop (another easy addition).

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful day!

My Minds Eye {Hanging Tags}

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

My mother stopped by my house the other day with some paper in tote.

She requested that I create some tags for her little bird hanger.

The funny thing is, she picked out the exact same paper I’ve been working with over the last few weeks.

Like mother, like daughter.

We’re both in love with the sparkly My Minds Eye paper.

With the help of this beautiful paper (and fun embellishments), I was able to put these tags together for her in no time (which is good because I seem to have very little of that thing called, “time” lately).

Thanks for stopping by today, I means so much that you spend some of your precious moments visiting my blog.

You’re awesome!

My Minds Eye {Market Street}

Monday, September 20th, 2010

I seem to be addicted to playing with My Minds Eye paper.  I can’t help myself – it’s just so sparkly.

This photo of my mother was taken back in 1983.  I found it when I was going through my grandmother’s photos, I just love it!

I mixed some of the My Mind’s Eye embellishments in with some flowers. I love that these lines have so many embellishments.

I’m in embellishment heaven.

I hope that you have a wonderful Monday. Go ahead, kick off the week with a big smile.

My Minds Eye {Lost & Found} Union Square Cards

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

I love the beautiful My Minds Eye paper. It’s so sparkly and delicious to look at.

The paper comes pre-glittered, what’s not to love about that?

I already had some red thread in my sewing machine…so I added a little stitching to the next couple of cards.

It’s amazing what a little stitching can add to a card….and some buttons…and some twine.

Still loving that pre-glittered paper.

On this next card I whipped out some Sea Foam Shimmer Spritz to add a little blue to this red & white My Minds Eye line.

Here’s a closer look at the Sea Foam blue:

I also spritzed one of the hearts, I love how simple it was to change the color this beautiful paper.

This card could easily be a valentine, don’t you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope that you have a wonderful day!

My Minds Eye {Lost & Found} Portobello Road

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Labor Day Weekend has arrived.

I’m ready!

Before I take off to my (much anticipated) Family Reunion,

I thought I’d share another My Minds Eye Layout.

This layout came together quickly.

Almost the entire layout was created with the

My Minds Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road Line

(excluding the Wide Sheer Ribbon, Cardstock & Shimmerz).

Speaking of Shimmerz,

I used some of the Shimmerz Pearlz to create the Pin Dots in the corners of this layout.

But the sparkly, “Handsome Boy” label:

My Minds Eye.

Yep.

And the fun brads:

You guessed it,

My Minds Eye.

Love this paper.

It’s a little bit of Scrapbooker’s Heaven.

In other news:

Remember those photo albums of my Grandmother’s that my father found?

The precious and rare albums that were not destroyed in the fire?

I’m finally done scanning photos.

And almost done creating the photo CD’s for my cousins.

I thought I’d share of few of my favorites:

Grandma Clara giving my little brother, Seth his first bath.

It was a tradition that Grandma Clara gave all her grandchildren their first bath.

{You can see me in the photo…I’m in the mirror}

Left to right: Rachel Wolfe, Tarah Wolfe Livingston, Grandma Clara, Rebecca Wolfe, Corianne Wolfe and Christie Wolfe Bryant

This photo shows the nightgowns that Grandma Clara made for each of her granddaughters that lived nearby. Having a matching nightgown with my cousins is a favorite Christmas memory.

Grandma Clara on her front porch.

Grandma lived in Paradise, California for many, many years (not sure the exact number).

They don’t often get snow in Paradise

but when they do – Grandma loved it!

I can’t wait to share these (and many more) special photos with my cousins.

Thanks for stopping by,

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
