A Layout Featuring Grandma Clara

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

I have nothing but fond memories of my Grandma Clara.

She was fun, creative, a fantastic cook and an all around beautiful person.

Grandma Clara loved to laugh, watch soap operas and eat chocolate.

Grandma Clara would often go buy the “good root-beer” which in translation was in fact: Pepsi.

Grandma Clara taught me how to tie a quilt, sew a pillow case and make the perfect poached eggs.

Just a few fun memories (I have billions) of Grandma Clara.

A fun fact:

We called my grandmother, “Grandma Clara” because my mother would refer to her as, “Clara”…to us grandchildren she became “Grandma Clara.”

My mother and grandmother were the best of friends. I remember being frustrated as a child because they would spend hours on the telephone…even after they had spent the entire morning together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope that you have a fantastic day!

My Minds Eye {Lost & Found} Portobello Road

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Labor Day Weekend has arrived.

I’m ready!

Before I take off to my (much anticipated) Family Reunion,

I thought I’d share another My Minds Eye Layout.

This layout came together quickly.

Almost the entire layout was created with the

My Minds Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road Line

(excluding the Wide Sheer Ribbon, Cardstock & Shimmerz).

Speaking of Shimmerz,

I used some of the Shimmerz Pearlz to create the Pin Dots in the corners of this layout.

But the sparkly, “Handsome Boy” label:

My Minds Eye.

Yep.

And the fun brads:

You guessed it,

My Minds Eye.

Love this paper.

It’s a little bit of Scrapbooker’s Heaven.

In other news:

Remember those photo albums of my Grandmother’s that my father found?

The precious and rare albums that were not destroyed in the fire?

I’m finally done scanning photos.

And almost done creating the photo CD’s for my cousins.

I thought I’d share of few of my favorites:

Grandma Clara giving my little brother, Seth his first bath.

It was a tradition that Grandma Clara gave all her grandchildren their first bath.

{You can see me in the photo…I’m in the mirror}

Left to right: Rachel Wolfe, Tarah Wolfe Livingston, Grandma Clara, Rebecca Wolfe, Corianne Wolfe and Christie Wolfe Bryant

This photo shows the nightgowns that Grandma Clara made for each of her granddaughters that lived nearby. Having a matching nightgown with my cousins is a favorite Christmas memory.

Grandma Clara on her front porch.

Grandma lived in Paradise, California for many, many years (not sure the exact number).

They don’t often get snow in Paradise

but when they do – Grandma loved it!

I can’t wait to share these (and many more) special photos with my cousins.

Thanks for stopping by,

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
