ALL PHOTOS IN THIS POST BY JACLYN DAVIS

I know that some of you have been waiting patiently to see photos from my baby sister, Emilee’s wedding.

Jackie, Emilee’s photographer emailed me several photos.  Jackie is an amazing photographer and I can’t wait to see the whole lot (hundreds) of photos!

Jackie also promised to send me some photos of the little tags, banners and little paper crafts that I made for Emilee’s wedding.  I promise I’ll post those too when I get them.

Be sure to check out Jackie’s BLOG.  She is truly amazing.

My Baby Sister is Married

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Can you believe that I did not bring my own camera to my sisters wedding? Not that I didn’t want to. Yep, my camera is still with Nikon hopefully being repaired as I type. But enough about that…on to the good stuff:

I woke up at 5am December 5th so that I could be at Emilee’s house by 6am.  It was my duty, as the Matron of Honor to be at her side all day long.

Every second that I was with her was a special second. I feel very honored and blessed to have such a beautiful, sweet, sister.  To be present during her sealing ceremony was something that has touched my heart in a way I had never imagined it would. Witnessing her marry her sweet husband, Jordan for Time and All Eternity was so special and tender.

Tears of joy filled my eyes more than a few times throughout the day.

Fun, family, love, and laughter filled the entire day…and into the next day…around 2 am.

The decorations were amazing, the food was fantastic…all of it perfect.

But pictures you ask?

Jaclyn took this photo:

I did grab a friends camera a few times (still waiting for the photos) and Emilee’s photographer, Jaclyn was amazing, she was constantly shooting photos.  Jaclyn has promised to email me some photos for my blog (can’t wait, can’t wait)!  So, in turn, I promise to share the photographic memories of Emilee’s wedding as soon as I can get them (I know some of you are anxious).

Ah, my baby sister is married. I still see her as a little 8 year old.

Just to put things into perspective for you…the following photo was taken in 1996, at my wedding. Emilee was 8 years old:

I love that girl.

A Little About My New Banner

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

OK.  Here’s where I get to brag about my sweet, sweet husband, Dan.

Dan is the Senior Programmer for THIS company.  The man has skills.  Skills which I completely took advantage of (he lets me because I’m his wife).

Me: Dan, I’d really like to create a new banner.

Dan: Cool.

Me: I have a specific idea which requires your expertise.

Dan: Cool.

Me: So can you help me.

Dan: Yep.

It was that easy.  I asked for a banner that I could upload images to and change them as often as I choose.

Dan made it happen.  As I said before.  He’s a sweet, sweet man.

Take for instance this special feature:  If you click on any photo it automatically shows up in Light box.  And if there is more than one photo in the post an arrow will appear for you, the blog reader, to browse on through the photos.  Pretty darn nifty, aye?

I’ll upload a few more photos of the treat tags I made for Emilee’s Wedding…that way you can give it a try.  Start by clicking on the next photo, you’ll be happy you did.

Did you like it?  I hope so.

Also, each photo in my blog banner links to the post it belongs to.  If you see something you like or missed in the banner, it’s just a click away.  Before you leave here today you should “click” around. Take a browse and tell me what you think!

My husband is great, isn’t he?

Jordan and Emilee’s Guest Book

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Emilee’s Guest Book is finished.

The light was not very great for photographing the Guest Book but I wanted to share it with you here on my blog.

All the fantastic photographs in the Guest Book I made were taken by Emilee’s Photographer Jaclyn Davis.

I used Flower Soft on the snowflakes for this next page.  It’s the first time I used Flower Soft product.  I loved it.  So, so pretty.  You can purchase Flower Soft products HERE.

A closer look at the Flower Soft on the snowflake:

My favorite of Emilee and Jordan’s engagement photos are taken with Emilee’s horses.

So sweet.

I loved adding the lavender to Emilee’s Guest Book pages.

I especially loved the touch of lavender with the horse photos.

Emilee and Jordan are such a beautiful couple.

My baby sister is getting married next Saturday!

Emilee’s Wedding Banner {Landon}

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

I’ve finished making the “Landon” banner for Emilee’s Wedding Reception.

I’m loving her colors…I have silver glitter ALL over (glitter shows up in odd places).

I tried to get a photo of the whole thing but it’s HUGE! So, I took individual photos of each letter.

I’ll be sure to take some photos of the banner hanging at her reception.

Here’s a look:

I strung a snowflake in between each letter and on each end.

I also used a crystal garland to add that “somin’-somin’”

Here’s a closer look at the details:

That’s it!  I hope that Emilee likes it!

Stay tuned…I’ll be posting photos of the Guest Book I made for Emilee soon.

Graphic 45 + Tattered Angels {Chillin’}

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

My sweet baby sister with her soon to be husband (in only 15 days)!

In this layout I stretched a few requirements.

I needed to use Graphic 45 paper along with Tattered Angels Product.

My sister’s wedding has a snowflake theme and her colors are shades of blue, lavender and silver.

I used blue & lavender cardstock, silver glimmer mist and the Tattered Angels Glimmer screens to create the snowflakes on the layout.  I added a little bling here and there to make the snowflakes stand out.

I reworked the photo of Em and Jordan to look a little more vintage…I felt this allowed me to get away with using the matching sepia-tone colors in the Graphic 45 snowflake paper.

OK.  It was a stretch but it fulfilled my requirements and sometimes a girl has to hit a few birds with only one stone.

P.S.

Emilee had her Bridal Photos taken last weekend in the freezing cold.  Em’s photographer, Jaclyn was SUPER fun and talented!

Check out some of the shoot:

This and That…

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Emilee’s Wedding Plans are still in full swing.

I helped Em with her hair for her engagement photos.  You can’t really see her pretty braid in this photo but it is present in other photos. I’ll share them when I can. Promise.

I helped design some pretty tags that will be placed on the apothecary jars at her reception.  I dropped the sample off at my Mom’s before I took a photo…oops.

I filled out the invitations for Emilee’s shower.  I wish that I would’ve had time to create some home-made invitations (she’s totally worth it) but I ran out of time.

While I was searching for a hair-tie for my daughter today, I found one of my pretty rhinestone hair clips.  I’d completely forgotten about it.  The clip kind of looks like a snow flake (which goes along with Emilee’s snow themed wedding).  I tried to snap some photos of the clip in my hair…it proved to be harder than I expected.

I tried.

Tomorrow I get to pick up my camera lens.  The lens is finally repaired.  I’m so excited - I can take proper photos again!

I have a couple projects to share (a Graphic 45 layout and a Christmas Mini album) but I think I’ll wait until I pick up my camera lens tomorrow. Good idea, right?
