There are so many ways to use Crepe Paper, I love to make flowers.
The following is a Thanksgiving centerpiece that I created for Scrap n’ Arts magazine.

Do you ever create using crepe paper? What have you made with it?
I enjoyed my girls weekend in Utah, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend also.
xoxo, Christie

While in Salt Lake last November, Izabelle and I took a nighttime stroll of the Salt Lake Temple grounds.
It is so beautiful, I love the way the Temple looks at night…all lit up.
It’s amazing to think that nowadays structures are built with the help of amazing machines…forklifts, tractors, dump trucks, even nail guns. Yet this glorious Temple was built before any amazing machinery came into existence. Pretty miraculous, if I do say so myself…a part of American history that is close to my heart. And so, so beautiful.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo,
Christie

One title for two projects.

The kids thoroughly enjoyed trying on different Halloween Costumes last October.
And I had fun taking photos of them. We love Halloween at our house, it’s always fun to decorate and dress up…oh, and eat LOTS of candy.
I can’t believe we’re already half way through January. SLOW DOWN January!
I’m finally getting over my cold (mostly) so it’s back to business as usual…It’s been hard enough to get back in the swing of things after the holidays. Now, if I could just get motivated to get some work done.
It would probably help if my husband wasn’t watching Pushing Daisies on DVD. Love that show…it’s making it really hard to get up off the couch.
Have a wonderful day!
Love your couch potato friend,
Christie
xoxo

Feelin’ the love.
Love. love. love.
This sweet little angel is my niece, Kayla.
Speaking of love…I’ve been spending WAY too much time on Pinterest looking at fun Valentine projects.
Help me.
Are you addicted to Pinterest too?
Have a super-fantastic day!

My sweet cousin, McKenzie at her reception last November.

We finally got a little snow here.
I love it when the yellow grass and leafless trees get covered with white fluffiness.
It looks clean and lovely again (hopefully it stays this way for a few days).
I spent Sunday and Monday in bed, the flu got the better of me. Usually I can function…even when I’m sick but this flu really took it out of me. I tried to catch up on housework and my piles of laundry today, at least until I wore myself out again…amazing how our bodies make us take it easy whether we want to or not.
Have you escaped the flu this season? It’s captured everyone in my family except Izabelle, lucky girl.
Right now I’m so thankful for my fluffy down comforter. Time to go crawl underneath it.
Stay healthy,
Christie xoxo

Reflecting on 2011, I can’t help but feel overwhelming gratitude.
I feel like I’ve learned so much, loved so much, overcome obstacles, felt so much support, been given so much…I feel so blessed.
2011 was a wonderful year, I thank you for being part of it.
xoxo, Christie

I snapped this photo of my nephew, Cooper at the Crabtree Cabin last Summer.
At the time, Cooper was just learning to walk. I loved to watch him discover the feel of rocks and grass under his feet. As he walked back and forth he became braver and walked a little faster. So, so sweet.

I used Pan Pastels on both of these layouts. I need to experiment with Pan Pastels more…one of my goals this year is to get more comfortable using different mediums. I might try a bit of water color too. My mom and I are thinking of taking the Junelle Jacobson workshop (Scarlet Lime), it looks so fun:
The Art of Wild Abandonment

These photos were taken two years ago…Dan with his parents.

I hope that your new year is off to a great start (I’m finally getting Christmas put away).
Love the fresh start that comes with a new year.
Take care,
Christie
xoxo

I know I’m late…
Happy New Year!
I hope that you had the merriest Christmas ever!

I’ve been absent from blogsphere.
I can only say that I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my beautiful family.

One of our Christmas traditions is baking sugar cookies and decorating them.
I’ve been dieting since early November so I only made enough for my kids to enjoy.
I was hard not to eat cookies. But I lived.

Dan does not like sugar cookies. He says they are a waste of frosting. Ugh!
I wish I didn’t like sugar cookies. I happen to LOVE them. And homemade butter cream frosting.

Happy New Year my dear friend!
I will be posting projects soon, promise.

My friend, Peggy asked me to create a little album as a gift for her sister.
Peggy, her husband and sister visited Park City, Utah last Fall.

The leaves on the album cover are real leaves that Peggy picked up during their hikes.

A few of the album details…

I love all the beautiful Autumn photos they took…gorgeous!

Peggy saved airline info and tickets from their trip, I added them to the album.

It was fun to make this little album, although, I’m always nervous working with photos that belong to other people.

So.
Are you ready for Christmas?
I sure am. I can’t wait! The kids make it so much fun.
Merry Christmas my dear friend!
xoxo, Christie

Photos from our first winter in Idaho, 2009.
I can’t believe how much my kiddos have changed and grown in these two short years.

OK. I know I’m weird…but I still want snow. Where is the snow? I really want a white Christmas.
My mom thinks I’m crazy, she loves the “mild” winter we’re having. Though, I do admit that I’m glad not to be shoveling snow.

Are you enjoying this Christmas season?
I’ve been super-busy but loving every minute of it.
Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate you!
