Cosmo Cricket {Joy Ride}

March 1st, 2010

I love the new Cosmo Cricket Lines!  I couldn’t wait to cut into the “Joy Ride” paper.

Last Sunday I took some photos of my brother, Seth and his wife, Kristin.  They’re expecting their first baby (my first nephew) in just three weeks!  I’m so excited!

What made me even more excited?  When I printed out the above photos of Seth and Kristin, the colors in the photos matched the Cosmo paper perfectly!  I didn’t really bother me that “Joy Ride” is a travel line, I made it work for the layout…

I especially like the “you are here” tag right above Kristin’s belly. Fun!

The little details?  Here’s a peek:

Seth and Kristin are such a cute couple.  It was so fun to take photos of them. If it wasn’t so cold we probably would have stayed out longer.

Here’s a few more photos…

Graphic 45 Chandelier

February 28th, 2010

OK.  First of all, I found this project at 504 Main.  The paper chandelier was not my idea…but oh, how I wish I could claim it.

Basically, I took the idea and made it my own.

This paper chandelier was really hard to photograph.  I tried to pick up on all the sparkle from the beads, charms and glitter on the paper. It was not happening indoors.

So I went outside (thanks for hanging the chandelier in a tree sweet hubby).

And sparkle photos?

Not so much.

I might have to take individual photos of the hanging tags…

I may have to re-think this post.

No, I think I’ll just keep showing photos now.

Anyway, here’s a shot of the paper:

The paper chandelier seen above was actually my second attempt.  The first time I attached the paper to the wire, the folds were too large for my liking.

Then, I decided that I wanted to add cute scalloped edges on the paper and glitter, glitter, glitter!

I am much happier with the result the second time around (with a little a lot of help from my mom and sister).  My mom was a sport, taking the paper off the wire, cutting it down to the size I wanted and re-folding.  And then my sister helped by applying some glitter to the paper.

By the time I finished the tag charms and cutting more paper (I needed more because the folds were smaller), it was pretty late at night.  The project was not as simple as I imagined but I am so pleased with the result.

What do you think? Do you like it?

Should I take photos of the individual tags?

Just in case you were wondering…yes, that is snow on my neighbor’s roof (and on the ground).  It’s c-c-cold.

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo, Christie

Irons In The Fire…

February 26th, 2010

I have a lot of projects in the making…most of them Graphic 45.  I also have a couple Teresa Collins Books half finished (one baby boy and one wedding).  Hopefully I can get it all done this weekend and share them with you!

Thanks for hanging in there with me during this busy time in my life…I promise (or better yet, I hope) it’s worth the wait.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas….Again?

February 24th, 2010

I was recently contacted (by a really sweet woman) about a Christmas Advent Book that I made in 2008.  She asked if I could make her one.

I went digging through my massive stash of paper…and sure enough, I had some 2008 Making Memories in there. That must be why I always buy two of every sheet (sure…that’s the reason).

Here’s a few photos of the Christmas Advent rerun:

Merry Christmas…er…I mean…? What?

I Can’t Get Enough of This…

February 22nd, 2010

I LOVE this new book, “Delight in the Details”:

Lisa Pace totally inspires me…enough to get out my paint and sandpaper! If you’re a scrapbooker who loves details - go buy this book now!

Thank you Karen! I love it!

Teresa Collins {Bebe Girl}

February 20th, 2010

Teresa Collins had fabulous make-n-takes at CHA 2010.  I walked away from her booth with an entire Bebe Girl Album…all it needed was some photos and embellishments. I can’t believe how generous Teresa Collins is! Wow!

Using the make-n-take, I created a little sample album for Paradise Scrapbook Boutique (they have the paper on order). Here’s a little peek-a-boo.  Nothin’ too fancy…but fast and fun to put together!

The Bebe Girl line has fun ribbons, transparencies and chipboard embellishments to match.  I {heart} Teresa Collins!

Bo Bunny {a gift of love}

February 15th, 2010

A little while ago I shared the above photo as a sneak peek.

I created a “Nuts About You” Layout for Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

Now that the class is over and done with, I feel that it’s alright to share the layout here on my blog:

I hope that you all had a fun Valentines Day and were able to share the day with someone special.

xoxo, Christie

The Fasted Little “Love” Layout Ever

February 9th, 2010

I used the new Making Memories line, “Love Struck” to create this simple layout in no time at all.

Between the Matching Making Memories Love Struck embellishments and new Design Shop Embellishments, I’ve never put a layout together so quickly (and usually people call me a fast-scrapper anyway - so I’m telling you, this layout came together fast).

I love that Making Memories always makes the cutest little embellishments (and TONS of them) to go along with their paper lines.

Have I mentioned before how much I love embellishments?  I know, I know…all the time, right? Well, I do.

Mondays…

February 8th, 2010

I love Mondays.  You probably don’t hear that from many people, right?

Monday is the one day of the week that I have set aside specifically for crafting. I don’t have to work on Mondays, the kids are in school and the house is quiet.

Weekends tend to be filled with family time and household chores.  I rarely find a moment to myself when I am surrounded by the ones I love.

But today, today will be filled with hearts and flowers.  I can’t wait to dive in and get started!
