Color Me Happy

Monday, June 13th, 2011

I’ve been playing with a bit of color. Blame it on the She Had Three Hearts Workshop (I’m having a blast!).

This layout is WAY outside the box for me. I usually do not create such bright layouts, I was inspired by all the COLOR that is finally popping up here in Idaho.  I absolutely LOVE all the green!

Did you know that green is my favorite color? Yep, green in all it’s glory! Love green.

In this layout I played with Shimmerz Coloringz…gorgeous, bright colors!

So, I guess beautiful weather = bright colors on this layout.

Don’t Ever Grow Up

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

I made a New Year’s Resolution to use some of my GINORMOUS year-plus old paper stash (my stash is getting bigger by the year…month…week…yeah, anyway). I think the patterned papers I used on the background of this layout date back to…err..2006…maybe?

I wrote down the paper companies on a piece of paper before I started the layouts and then promptly lost it. Knowing me, it accidentally ended up in the trash. Oops.

When my mom and I visited my grandmother in Utah a couple weeks ago, we drove to Thanksgiving Point, ate lunch and did a little shopping.  One of the rooms inside the Thanksgiving Point shops was completely covered with torn out vintage book pages. I absolutely loved the look of it and decided to implement the look onto the background of this scrapabook page.

There you have it. A different look but I like it.  What do you think?

Have a fabulous weekend!

Graphic 45 {Once Upon a Springtime & Le Cirque}

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Happy Friday!

These are the last of my CHA 2011 projects…

The above photo is of my daughter, Izabelle and her best friend Seth. I can’t believe how much she has grown. I miss those sweet little ringlets.

Some close-ups of the details…

Here’s a card I made using the Once Upon a Springtime line.

A close-up of the glittered paper flowers I made:

I used photos of my niece, Kayla for this layout:

I thought the photos were perfect for the Le Cirque line.

I went a little crazy with the glitter on my CHA projects.  I was sparkling for days.

Still enjoying California.  Can’t wait for the Valentine Crop tomorrow at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique!

Shimmery Valentine Wreath Goodness

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

I caught onto this cute little idea (thanks, mom). You use cup-cake liners to make a wreath.

Cute, easy, SO FUN!

I needed a good excuse to use my new Pink Stilleto Shimmeringz.

The Pink Stiletto turned out so beautiful on cupcake liners.

This photo really doesn’t do the wreath justice (bad lighting were it was hung, please refer to above photos for actual color):

I love how easy this project was.  My daughter helped. She loves helping.

So…go buy some cupcake liners, a foam wreath, some Shimmeringz, get out your glue gun, then get spritzin’ (only if you really want to).

Signing out from California.

Flower Soft Card

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

It’s definitely snowing around here.

I have to admit, I LOVE it!  When I look out the window I feel so grateful for the beauty that surrounds me.

I am also so blessed to have such a warm and comfortable home.

I used Flower Soft product to make the fluffy snow on the card shown above.  Check out their website HERE.

I bought mine HERE.

I’m going to spend the next few days enjoying time with my family.

I hope that you can create some happy memories with your family during this wonderful time of year.

xoxo, Christie

Dream Street Superstition Collection

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

My silly daughter LOVES to be scary. Last year she was a werewolf for Halloween, this was her scariest costume yet.

I just had to put the werewolf photos on a layout, so I used my new Dream Street paper.

I struggled with this layout because of the red in her shirt.  Red isn’t usually a Halloween color but I let it go…this once.

A funny fact about Izabelle’s costume:  She loves to wear the werewolf costume but when she takes it off, she’s afraid of it. The costume can not be stored in her room, we store it in my husband’s office closet.

I really love working with the the Dream Street papers.  The Superstition collection has really fun matching chipboard and rub-on embellishments.

I purchased my Dream Street paper at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

Journal + A Long Walk + Challenge

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I’m hosting the Graphic 45 Blog Challenge this month.  It’s all about journaling.  This month I want to see some creative layout ideas where the story behind the photograph takes center stage.

For an example, I created the following layout of my son, Parker:

The journaling reads:

Sweet Parker,
This photo makes me sigh and smile.  Whenever we go for our long family walks you always seem to be in your element.   You are calm and curious.  You are fun and thoughtful.
You always pick me wild flowers.  On this particular late February walk, there were wild flowers in bloom everywhere.  You brought me handfuls of blossoms; so many, in fact, that I would let them fly in the breeze and we would make a wish as they blew away.
Thank you for constantly reminding me of what is important in life.  It’s so nice to slow down and walk with you.
Love, Mom
Parker and puppy, Kenai exploring Wookey Road Farm together.
February 2009.

For those of you that scrapbook, don’t forget how important it is to journal on your pages.  As scrapbookers we put so much time into our layouts; it would be a shame not to know the story behind them.

The winner of this month’s challenge is chosen by the Graphic 45 Design Team and will win a package of Graphic 45 papers.

P.S. – I haven’t forgotten about my 300th Post Giveaway (this is post 298)!

Baby Elizabeth

Monday, June 1st, 2009

My very sweet friend, Linda has been creating a scrapbook about her Mother-in-law, Elizabeth.  It has been so fun to watch Linda’s scrapbook come together.

After her Mother-in-law passed, Linda inherited some photos and memorabilia.  One of which was a little rocking chair.

Linda gave the little rocking chair to Karen at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  Karen lovingly hung the rocking chair in a place of honor at PSB, right above her baby papers (perfect).

It’s sweet, right?

Last Saturday night Linda brought in a baby photo of her Mother-in-law.  In the photo you can see the little rocking chair behind baby Elizabeth.

Pretty neat!

I had forgotten to bring photos to the Saturday Crop but wanted to create a baby layout.  The photo of baby Elizabeth came in really handy.

I created the following layout for Linda and Karen (Paradise Scrapbook Boutique) using the new October Afternoon paper:

If you would like to peek at the album that Linda has created click HERE.

Friday Foto Fiesta!

Friday, May 1st, 2009

It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in Candid Carrie’s Friday Foto Fiesta!  Not that I haven’t wanted to…I most certianly have.  I just usually remember on Saturday when it’s too late.  My bad.

After you browse at my lovely photos be sure to check out some of the other participants on Candid Carrie’s Blog.

I had to share these fun photos of my new little niece, Addie.  She is only 10 weeks old and she’s all smiles.  You’ve got to love baby smiles.

Hope you’re smiling now!

I’m off to a weekend crop at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  It’s National Scrapbook Day on Saturday.

What are your plans for the weekend?
