Sunshine {American Crafts}

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

It’s gonna be a bright, sunshiny day!

My niece, Addie is SO much fun! So sweet, energetic and just darn adorable.

I created this layout using American Crafts Carstock and Thickers for the July issue of  Scrap-n-Art Magazine.

My kiddos had a great first few days of school…so far, so good. It was difficult for me when the kids started school this year, I thought I would be a little more excited about the extra ‘free time’ on my days off work but the house has been so quiet now that the kids are gone most of the day. I’ve been spending more time at the gym, going into work early, cleaning…I even went and picked up my nephew, Cooper and played with him for awhile. I’m sure that I’ll be back to the normal happy-to-have-free-time person again soon, not to worry.

This weekend…

I’m visiting my grandmother in Utah, it’s always wonderful to spend time with her.

I hope you have something special planned this weekend too!

A Little Home Decor…Shimmerz Style

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Shimmerz Lime in da Coconut and No Yoking helped me add a little color to my living room.

These little….what shall I call them?  Puffy balls? Accents? Not sure.

Anyway…these little er…accents are easy to make.

I used several 2″ foam balls and hot glued mini cupcake liners to them,

Once the foam balls were completely covered with cupcake liners, I spritzed them with colors that matched my home decor.

Easy peasy.

I hope that you’re having an enjoyable weekend!

Shimmerz Rocks!

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Have you noticed that I have been using a lot of my favorite Shimmerz colors? Anchors Away, Lime in da Coconut and Pink Stiletto by name, beautiful by reputation.

Good news!  All the Shimmerz Products are now available at Scrapbook.com!

A couple of layouts where I used Anchors Away:

I LOVE working with Shimmerz products!

Goof.

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Goof.

No kidding.

I absolutely DO NOT like having my photograph taken. It’s really hard to get out from behind the camera and let someone take a photo of me; when I do let someone take a photo, I’m usually goofing off.

Case and point.

One of my new year’s resolutions was to include myself in our family scrapbook, another was to use papers from my stash.

With this layout, I accomplished both.

Loving the new Shimmerz Coloringz, I used them to create the title and background. I also had A LOT of fun with my sewing machine. Maybe I went a little overboard.

If I stick to my resolution, you’ll be seeing more ‘Christie’ layouts in the near future. Heaven help you.

Happy Wednesday!

Addie Swing Layout

Monday, February 21st, 2011

A little Shimmerz Layout featuring my sweet little niece, Addie on her horse (tire) swing.

I used Lime in da Coconut over a fence stencil.

And I spritzed Pink Stiletto on some white Thickers. I love how the spritz marks look on the Thickersl.

A cute little girl on a swing to go along with Addie’s photo.

Monday is almost over already…this is going to be a busy week.

It’s amazing how 2011 has been flying by already.  I can’t believe that we are only days away from MARCH!

I hope that you have a wonderful week!

Shimmerz Coloringz On Fabric

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

My daughter, Izabelle and I had some fun with the NEW Coloringz from Shimmerz yesterday.

We spritzed Lime in da Coconut on lace (for leaves), then  Mandarin Mai Tai and Pink Stiletto on strips of white fabric to create flowers for a headband.

I love how vibrant these new colors are.

Izabelle loved showing off her new headband at school.

Thanks for stopping by!

That Shimmerz Shine…

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

This layout features the first photo I took of the snow in Idaho.

When I first moved to Idaho, I was completely enchanted by the snow…

I still love the glorious white beauty of it and truly enjoy the first hush of winter the snow brings.

But to say, “enchanted” during this, my second winter…not so much.

OK, I do love the snow…and it is still enchanting…as long as I don’t have to drive in it.

This layout was posted a few weeks back on the Shimmerz blog.  It’s completely covered with Shimmerz product…Paintz, Spritz, Pearlz…it’s all there.

I started with a white background and went  a little crazy spritzing snowflakes.

Some snowflakes I traced with pencil and filled in with Shimmerz Paintz.

I love that Shimmerz products  always make me feel like a kid again. Creativity at it’s core.

Happy New Year friends!

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

I’ve been enjoying the Christmas season and simply forgot to share these projects…

Shimmerz took a front seat on this card.  Love Shimmerz!

“Baby it’s Cold Outside”

This photo of my brother’s family was actually taken last Summer at a beach in California…it  does look a bit like a Christmas photo, right?

“Season’s Greetings”

And this wouldn’t be a proper post without a little Graphic 45…

“Scenes From Christmas”

Merry Christmas friends!
