Simple Stories {Documented}

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

I know that I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I LOVE being ‘Aunt Christie’.

My nephew, Cooper will be two years old on April 1st.  He’s talking so much now and he can say my name, which I love.

It sounds like he’s saying, “Kiss-tee”…It’s Appropriate because I kiss on his little head. all. the. time.

I took the photo in this layout when I was watching Cooper the other day; he was running so fast that the photo is blurry but I love it anyway.

Speaking of nephews, here’s a photo of my new little nephew, Jackson:

Jackson was born last Monday, his mommy took this photo of him…just hours old. What a dreamy little guy. I’m already in love with him.

I’m headed out to California in May, can’t wait to snuggle him.

~o~

Have a wonderful week!

Graphic 45 Beach Album {Tropical Travelogue}

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

I love this Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue line, it’s SUPER fun and easy to create with.

Ya’all know I love me some Graphic 45.

Have you seen their new Little Darlings line?

Oh. I can’t wait to get my hands on Little Darlings (oh lovely day). I think it may be my new favorite.

For now I just need to plan a trip to the beach.

A beach in Hawaii would be nice.

If I go to Hawaii, I could fill this little album with lovely beach photos.

Hey. Dreams do come true! Hawaii will be in my future. Promise.

Here’s to Summer breezes and sunny weather.

xoxo, Christie

P.S.

If you have a second, check out the beautiful Diane Schultz showing off her Little Darlings line on Studio 5!

Red Lead Vintage Kits {I Love You Because…}

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

I created this little book as a gift for Dan.

Here are a few photos of the inside…

There are a lot of reasons why I love my wonderful husband.

More than I could possibly add to one little book.

And although neither him nor I are perfect…all the time (*wink, wink*), we sure do have a lot of fun together.

I am a blessed woman.

Red Lead Stamps {Our Nest}

Sunday, March 11th, 2012

Dan and I often talk about the first home we purchased. We still have so many fond memories of our cozy home. A lot of love was felt inside of it’s walls.

As it reads in my journaling:

From foundation to rooftop, from the walls and carpet to the grass in the yard. This was our home and we created loving memories here.

Ahhh…memory lane.

Banner Project #4

Friday, March 9th, 2012

Izabelle loves to spend time with her cousins (my cousins…her second cousins, we’re all cousins).

Last Summer they were able to spend a little time together at the Crabtree Cabin in Island Park, Idaho.

We’re looking forward to many more perfect days like these this Summer.

On this layout I used an embellishment banner from My Minds Eye.

I stitched the banner onto the layout using pink floss. Then I added a few stitches here and there.

It’s the weekend again…the kids get a three days off. Yay teacher’s inservice day!

We’re ready for some fun! What about you? Do you have any plans for this weekend? I’d love to hear about them.

Banner Week Project #3: Wood

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

Cooper turns 2 on April 1st! I can’t say it enough: TIME FLIES.

I love these photos of my sister, Emilee with Cooper. In the first photo, I called his name and he looked toward me; in the second photo, he caught notice of me and smiled; in the third photo he reached for me.

I love it when he reaches for me. It’s so fun to be aunt Christie.

At this rate “Banner Week” will more likely last more than a week.

On this layout I used the Wood Veneer Banners by Studio Calico.

How do you feel about wood embellishments? I like the texture they added.

Off to play with more banners.

Have a fan-tabulous day!

Banner Week Project #2: Paper Die-Cut Sheet

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

My niece, Addie turned THREE last month. Boy does time fly!

Her mom sent me this cute photo of Addie in the outfit and sunglasses we gave her.

Adorable!

On this “Banner” layout, I used a paper die-cut sheet.

This particular banner was from the Three Bugs in a Rug, Ashtyn line.

I also used the fun pink scalloped edge from the same die-cut sheet.

I’m having a blast using banners in my projects. Do you like the look of banners and use them on your projects?

Stay tuned, there are lots more banners to come…

Banner Week Project #1: The Rub-on Banner

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

While I was playing with scrapbooking product over the weekend, I realized just how many banner options there are in the wide world of scrapbooking. Banners are a hot commodity and I don’t foresee their popularity waning anytime soon.

So. I decided to challenge myself to create several projects using different types of banners.

Enter Project #1: The Rub-on Banner entitled, “Long Hair”

These particular rub-on transfers are by My Mind’s Eye. I should have taken a photo of the package before I opened it but I didn’t come up with this silly “Banner Week” idea until I was already four projects in.

Oh-buh-kay-bee…moving on.

Parker and I had this ridiculous banter about his hair getting way to long. Parker said he would never cut it. Never ever. ever.

Or so he thought.

Mom always wins. Bwahhh haaa haaaa!

The photo of Parker in this “Long Hair” layout is now considered his “before” haircut photo.

I should also mention that I was completely inspired by this week’s palette and sketch from The Color Room.

Stay tuned. I have many more banner projects coming up.

Have a gorgeous day!

Happy Dog {My Mind’s Eye}

Monday, February 27th, 2012

Sit. Good Boy.

Lay down. Good boy.

Marley is a good dog. He’s a happy dog.

Marley wasn’t always a good dog. He went through the hyper puppy stage (even though he was already a year old when we adopted him). He chewed up a couch cushion and used to get into the kitchen garbage. We were smart and bought a can with a lid. But Marley  made up for all of his naughty behavior  because he was always good snuggler at nap time.

Now he’s the only one who takes naps around here. Lucky dog.

…I guess the cats take naps too. Lucky cats.

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
