Sweet Little Ladybug Girl

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

My niece, Addie looks ADORABLE in her Ladybug Girl Halloween costume. I love that she even has the rubber boots! So sweet!

If you have a little girl, the Ladybug Girl books are so much fun, my nieces LOVE them!

I hope that you’re having a wonderful week, it’s been a busy one for me…and it’s not over yet. I still have dinner guests coming over tomorrow (I always worry more about cleaning my house than the meal…cooking is easy). And on Friday, Izabelle is having five of her friends over to make cupcakes, watch movies and…scrapbook. It’s going to be fun!

Crepe Paper Flowers

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

There are so many ways to use Crepe Paper, I love to make flowers.

The following is a Thanksgiving centerpiece that I created for Scrap n’ Arts magazine.

Do you ever create using crepe paper? What have you made with it?

I enjoyed my girls weekend in Utah, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend also.

Salt Lake Temple

Friday, January 20th, 2012

While in Salt Lake last November, Izabelle and I took a nighttime stroll of the Salt Lake Temple grounds.

It is so beautiful, I love the way the Temple looks at night…all lit up.

It’s amazing to think that nowadays structures are built with the help of amazing machines…forklifts, tractors, dump trucks, even nail guns. Yet this glorious Temple was built before any amazing machinery came into existence. Pretty miraculous, if I do say so myself…a part of American history that is close to my heart. And so, so beautiful.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Hot Off The Press {Dream}

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

One title for two projects.

The kids thoroughly enjoyed trying on different Halloween Costumes last October.

And I had fun taking photos of them. We love Halloween at our house, it’s always fun to decorate and dress up…oh, and eat LOTS of candy.

I can’t believe we’re already half way through January.  SLOW DOWN January!

I’m finally getting over my cold (mostly) so it’s back to business as usual…It’s been hard enough to get back in the swing of things after the holidays. Now, if I could just get motivated to get some work done.

It would probably help if my husband wasn’t watching Pushing Daisies on DVD. Love that show…it’s making it really hard to get up off the couch.

Have a wonderful day!

Love your couch potato friend,

Christie

xoxo

So, So Thankful

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

Reflecting on 2011, I can’t help but feel overwhelming gratitude.

I feel like I’ve learned so much, loved so much, overcome obstacles, felt so much support, been given so much…I feel so blessed.

2011 was a wonderful year, I thank you for being part of it.

Pan Pastels…

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

I snapped this photo of my nephew, Cooper at the Crabtree Cabin last Summer.

At the time, Cooper was just learning to walk. I loved to watch him discover the feel of rocks and grass under his feet. As he walked back and forth he became braver and walked a little faster. So, so sweet.

I used Pan Pastels on both of these layouts. I need to experiment with Pan Pastels more…one of my goals this year is to get more comfortable using different mediums. I might try a bit of water color too. My mom and I are thinking of taking the Junelle Jacobson workshop (Scarlet Lime), it looks so fun:

The Art of Wild Abandonment

These photos were taken two years ago…Dan with his parents.

I hope that your new year is off to a great start (I’m finally getting Christmas put away).

Love the fresh start that comes with a new year.

Take care,

Christie

Peggy in Park City

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

My friend, Peggy asked me to create a little album as a gift for her sister.

Peggy, her husband and sister visited Park City, Utah last Fall.

The leaves on the album cover are real leaves that Peggy picked up during their hikes.

A few of the album details…

I love all the beautiful Autumn photos they took…gorgeous!

Peggy saved airline info and tickets from their trip, I added them to the album.

It was fun to make this little album, although, I’m always nervous working with photos that belong to other people.

So.

Are you ready for Christmas?

I sure am. I can’t wait! The kids make it so much fun.

Merry Christmas my dear friend!

xoxo, Christie

Chill

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Photos from our first winter in Idaho, 2009.

I can’t believe how much my kiddos have changed and grown in these two short years.

______________________________

OK. I know I’m weird…but I still want snow. Where is the snow? I really want a white Christmas.

My mom thinks I’m crazy, she loves the “mild” winter we’re having. Though, I do admit that I’m glad not to be shoveling snow.

Are you enjoying this Christmas season?

I’ve been super-busy but loving every minute of it.

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate you!

McKenzie’s Wedding Tags

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

My Cousin, Katie asked me to make some tags for the tables at her daughter, McKenzie’s wedding this weekend.

She also needed tags for the homemade lolly pops they made.

I’m headed to Utah for the wedding this weekend. I can’t wait to see McKenzie in her wedding dress!

I remember when Mckenzie was just a baby…time goes by so fast.

…a little too fast.

Katie joked with me about Izabelle. She said that one day I’ll wake up and my little girl will be getting married.

I know Izabelle’s wedding is many, many  years in the future but the way these years keep flying by…

Years have seemed like days.

And if McKenzie was just a baby a few days ago and Izabelle was a baby yesterday then I guess her wedding will be here sooner than I ever imagined.

Best wishes to McKenzie and Jordan.

Crate Paper {Farmhouse}, Simple Stories {Happy Day} + My Memories Winner

Monday, October 24th, 2011

I realized that I still needed to share these layouts that I put together while in California.

One of the reasons I hadn’t posted them yet was because this one isn’t complete:

I ran out of the right colored floss for stitching and never finished…oh well. It will happen someday, right?

It’s Monday again.

A new week.

A fresh start.

Here’s to getting something done!
