I honestly don’t remember what paper I used for this layout. I was scrapbooking at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique for National Scrapbook Day. I didn’t have my camera with me so I took some photos of the layouts that I created with my cell phone. Sorry the photo quality isn’t very good.

Sorry that I’ve been away so long. I’ve been traveling a lot and it’s not going to slow down anytime soon. I have a packed-full-of-fun Summer planned. My project posts will most likely be few and far between.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your time.

Pens – For More Than Just Paper

Sunday, April 7th, 2013

While dying Easter Eggs this year, we grabbed some pens and started coloring.

We could create a neat watercolor effect if we used a paintbrush while the ink was still wet.

Izabelle, Breanna and I spent more than 3 hours coloring eggs. I think it’s the most fun I’ve ever had while dying eggs.

Speaking of pens…I used the fun Spectrum Noir pens on these layouts:

Pretty simple layouts but it was fun to let the pens do their magic.

Thanks for stopping by today!

XOXO,

Christie

Take a Gander, if You Like…

More projects that I’ve done over that past year and haven’t shared…

Izabelle’s 12th Birthday party. I posted about all the goodies and fun handmade aprons HERE.

This layout was from our trip to Utah/Nevada for Parker’s 15th Birthday. We explored through Red Rock Canyon on our drive home from Las Vegas.

In the summertime we spend every moment we can at the Crabtree Family Cabin in Island Park, Idaho.

It’s so beautiful in Island Park. Now that the weather is changing it’s growing closer to the time of year we can visit again.

Here’s a bit of home decor…I was inspired by something I saw in a local craft store and had to try to emulated it.

Some two-page layouts.

I really, really, really have a hard time creating two-pagers.

Sometimes I just must.

My mother and I did a lot of canning last Autumn. It was a bit of hard work but so much fun!

It’s growing harder and harder to capture photos of my two children together. This day I went out with the sole purpose of accomplishing said task.

I’m not so happy with the way the layout turned out but I just love photos of my kids together.

Christmas! What a crazy-crafty time of the year! These are some of the projects that I created:

A simple Christmas banner…because…I’m obsessed with creating banners.

Banners are SO hard to photograph.

Like, really hard.

A couple of handmade ornaments.

I was inspired by the ornaments created at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. Those are some crafty ladies, I’m tellin’ ya!

I loaded up on Christmas paper when I visited California last December. I don’t think I will ever have enough Christmas paper.

I mean, I have enough…but I’ll never have enough.

Ah, you know what I mean, right?

Speaking of California, when I traveled there, my baby sister tagged along. We had so much fun together! Our last couple days we spent in San Francisco.

We only had camera phones and the sun was behind us, so taking a good photo was pretty much impossible. It’s a really happy memory, so I had to scrapbook the photo anyway.

It’s not a visit to San Francisco without dinner at Scoma’s and dessert at Ghirardelli Square.

It’s weird how a trip to “The City” used to be so quick. When I lived in Northern California we would drive to San Francisco for the day and be home by midnight (or a few hours after). It was so fun to stay the night and explore a little more of the city.

Emilee and I had such a good time, I want to get away with her again…like…tomorrow.

Here’s dreaming!

OK. I think my share factor has increased by about 85%, hopefully I will be able to keep up.

We’ll see.

Maybe.

I’ll try my best.

Thanks for hanging in there with this LONG post! I really appreciate you taking the time to visit my little bit of space in the ginormous world wide web. Have a beautiful day!

I created all of the above cards for SNA in 2012. Guess it’s time I shared them, right?

Have a happy day!

This One’s For The Boys

Monday, March 4th, 2013

Baby Jack in a San Fransisco Giants hat. I believe Jack is the cutest little Giant’s fan alive.

My brother and his wife are die-hard fans. They don’t watch very much television but when the Giant’s are playing ball, all bets are off and the television is on.

I have been blessed to marry into a family filled with amazing men. Every single one of them is kind, respectful and best of all: they each have a unique sense of humor. I am always laughing when spending time with my hubby’s family.

Then there is this guy. Parker, Parker, Parker. He is so much fun right now. Almost 16, learning to drive, funny (like his dad and uncles), smart, and most definitely quirky. Like the layout title says, Parker is anything but typical.

Although there are many more boys in my life than are not pictured in this post, I am so grateful for each one of them. Boys are so much fun!

XOXO, Christie

I Love These Children

Monday, January 14th, 2013

Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.  Love is also said to be a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. Love is an unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another. Love causes compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans.

I love this kid. It’s a serious, special, unique kind of love. Every once in awhile I try to put myself in his shoes; the world looks so different through his eyes, I love what Parker sees.

Sometimes during our everyday conversations Parker will look at me and say, “Mom, you’re the only person in the world that understands me.”

I love him so much, like a stand-in-front-of-bullets kind of love. Parker is such a stellar young man and I’m so blessed to be his mother.

One day when Izabelle and I were driving in the car a song that I adore stared playing on the radio. I began to sing at the top of my lungs and dance, as best I could, in my seat. Izabelle could not hide her embarrassment; she was mortified that someone she knew would see me, although, she did smile at my enjoyment.

Flash forward a few months. Izabelle and I were driving in the car and a song that she liked came on the radio. She started singing at the top of her lungs and dancing, as best she could in her seat. She looked at me and smiled; I started singing and dancing right along with her. In that moment I felt so close to her, I was overwhelmed with the feeling of love for her.

Izabelle is my quirky, sweet, thoughtful, gorgeous girl. She keeps me young and makes me feel alive every single day. I love being her mom.

The day Kayla was born I became an aunt. When I held her in my arms for the first time, the love I felt for her was so great that it took my breath away. I loved her so much that she could have been my own baby girl. In that moment, I promised myself that she would always know how much her Aunt Christie loves her.

Every three months I travel to California to visit. When I knock on the door at my brothers house I am rewarded with the high pitched squeal “Aunt Christie is here!” along with the sound of frantic running to the door.

My heart swells when little Addie throws her arms around me and hugs my neck so tight. Like my love for her, Addie’s sweetness knows no bounds.

Has your heart ever been so full of love that you can’t possibly imagine that you could love more? I felt that way. And then I laid eyes on this sweet baby boy and my heart just grew.

During the four times I have visited California since Jack was born, I have probably planted at least five thousand kisses on his sweet face. Gosh I love this boy.

Holy moly. HO-LY MO-LY! Right this second I could drive the two miles it takes to get to this little boy’s house and claim him as my own. Right. This. Second.

When Cooper says, “I love you Aunt Christie.” I melt. I am butter. Holy Moly. Just sayin’.

I cannot get enough of this kid. Tucker is the cuddliest little boy that ever lived. He is so-darn-sugar-sweet I have to refrain from taking a bite out of him. I just want to squeeze him and hug him and kiss him and love him all day.

Disclaimer: Not to worry, I have never actually taken a bite out of Tucker.

The love I feel for these children is powerful. When I really ponder how deep my love goes and how much my love for them constantly grows…let me just say that I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each of them.

Jenni Bowlin {Christmas 2012}

Monday, December 17th, 2012

Merry Christmas 2012!

I realize it’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted on my blog. I am blessed with very busy hands.

2012 has been such an amazing, busy, wonderful year for my little family! I hope that your 2012 has been a fantastic year also.

Since this is a scrapbooking blog…

Check out some of the Jenni Bowlin: Christmas 2012 projects that I created for Scrap n’ Art:

This photo was taken of my nephew, Tucker (Christmas 2011).

He looked so sweet and peaceful asleep in his grandma’s arms.

This photo is of my friend Crystal’s baby, Olivia.

The jolly guy in the suit is my father. He makes a pretty good Santa, eh?

I love playing with Jenni Bowlin product, one of my very favorite companies.

This is a little handmade ornament.

I make at least one new ornament for my tree every year.

I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas!!!

XOXO, Christie

My Mind’s Eye {All is Bright}

Sunday, November 11th, 2012

The man in the big red suit, that would by my dad. And this particular Santa Clause is holding his grandson, Tucker.

Last Christmas was Tucker’s very first. It’s hard to believe that a year has flown by so quickly.

I know, I know, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted any projects. Lately the word, “busy” seems to be an understatement when referring to my life. It’s more like “chaotic” or maybe the word to describe my life should be “frantic”.

I guess “busy” works.

I’ve been busy.

I created these little My Mind’s Eye diddies for Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

I love everything about this line. Mostly because I just plain adore My Mind’s Eye paper.

And My Mind’s Eye + Christmas = MAGIC!

I know that I haven’t been around much lately, but I appreciate you hanging in there with me friend!

XOXO, Christie

Carta Bella {All Hallow’s Eve}

Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

I really have no idea why exactly, but I just LOVE Halloween!

It’s always so fun to dress up and pretend your someone (or something) you’re not. Acting!

Maybe it’s because Halloween falls right in the middle of Autumn when all the beautiful warm colored leaves line the streets and hillsides. I absolutely love everything about Autumn. The cool nights and (semi) warm afternoons. Sweaters, socks, pies and caramel apples. What’s not to love?

I created these little Halloween boo-diddlies as samples for Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

Lindsay Moore from Carta Bella will be teaching a class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique on October 20th! I was able to meet him (briefly) at CHA one year when I attended with the PSB girls, he is so fun! Wish I could be there on Oct. 20th to take his class.

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ve got to run…the kids are going a little crazy with the fake spider webs.

I love this time of year, Autumn is my very favorite season.

I’ve been busy with holiday crafting, Fall canning (chili sauce, mustard pickles, apple sauce, apple butter, etc.), and traveling. I went HERE (Simply amazing!) and HERE last week.

Life never seems to slow down but life is good.
