Excellence

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.”

–Aristotle

Pondering…

We are what we repeatedly do…

What I do repeatedly:

Get the kids ready for school.

Cook meals for my family.

Walk the dog.

Do lots of laundry.

Create.

Make mistakes.

Sing loudly in my car.

Pray.

Love my children.

Work hard.

Kiss my husband passionately.

Read.

Does this mean I am excellent at all of the above?

Scaredy Cat Charms

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

I’ve been working on my very fist “online” swap.   It’s a Halloween Charm and Tag Swap that my bloggy friend Cyndy is putting on.  To be completely  honest, I have never made a charm in my life.  These here Scaredy Cat Charms are my first.  I absolutely love buying  charms but I have no idea how to actually make them.  I’m totally wingin’ it….living in the moment, I guess.

A friend is someone who knows

the song in your heart

and can sing it back to you

when you’ve forgotten the words.

Live so that your children

can tell their children

that you not only stood

for something wonderful

you acted on it.

“Nice how we never get dizzy from doing good turns.”
–George Bengis

I received the above quote in my email a few days back. I’ve had a little time to ponder it. Sometimes I get so busy I do feel a little dizzy. It always seems that when I am on the right path I don’t feel overwhelmed, when this happens, I actually feel good about the state of “busy-ness” that I am in and do not feel dizzy.

Everyone has their rough days and I am one person that is not excluded from this. But I must say that I am truly grateful for every single day. I am grateful for that which keeps me busy. I am grateful for family and friends (that means you too, my fellow bloggers). I am grateful for projects and inspiration, for time to read and ponder.

I love the Bengis quote above. It speaks to me.

Allan K. Chalmers said -
The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

Something to do today…laundry, read to my children, go for a walk, scrapbook, kiss my husband

Something to love…green everywhere, friends, and family

Something to hope for…a cure for autism, money coming easily and often, to grow old and look back and see that I have lived a life worth remembering.

Yes, I am a happy woman.

Beauty…

…it’a all around us every day.  I am blessed to live near the gorgeous Bidwell Park.  Bidwell Park is on of my favorite things about my City.  I love to walk there, explore with my kids, hike with the dog and my hubby.  Picnic, or even just drive, sit and breath it all in.  What a glorious place.

Mother\'s Day Album

In all honesty, I’ve been really sick the last couple of days (no worries, I know that nobody likes a downer - I’m doing better).  Although (to make excuses) being sick has set me behind a little.  I’m still shooting for my site launch tomorrow….Wish me luck!
