I created a new banner for my blog a few days ago….here’s a little peak at what’s to come.

What do you think?

The Perfect Gift…

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

For my son, Parker.

This layout was featured on the Graphic 45 blog, Wednesday (yesterday).  I thought I would share it here too.

I designed it using the Graphic 45 Communique paper, with a sketch created by my fellow design team member Amanda Johnston.

The Communique paper was perfect for this layout (with all the vintage typewriters).  When I took the photo in this layout, I was trying to capture the look on Parker’s face when he first received his very own vintage typewriter. He was so happy!

Here’s some close ups of the little details:

Here’s the layout in it’s entirety:

Parker is still having fun with his typewriter.  He has to show it to ANYONE who dares visit our home.  He loves that it really works and uses it to type sweet letters.

Thank you Michele for delivering the typewriter from “Santa”.  You have no idea how happy you’ve made my son.

“About Me” Class

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

I’m teaching this Layout class later this month at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

I wanted to design a layout just for YOU.  A layout about what makes you special.

I would just love to open up an old shoe box full of my Great Grandmother’s photos and find a little list of her aspirations or her favorite pastimes tucked in with them.

That is what this layout is about.  Someday you will have a child, grandchild, a niece, a nephew or a good friend that will see this layout and learn something special about you.

My “Adore” Mini Album is not quite complete yet, but I thought I’d share some of the little details.

A Project for CHA

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

A project I made with the new Graphic 45 Fashionista Line:

If you’re not going to CHA you simply must visit the Graphic 45 website and check out their THREE NEW LINES HERE! If your local scrapbook store does not carry Graphic 45 paper yet, send them to the G45 website at: www.g45papers.com and they can fall in love too!

Valentine Mini Book

Monday, January 5th, 2009

I used the new Teresa Collins “Crush” paper and my Bind-it-All to create this sweet little mini album.

I love working with Teresa’s papers, they’re perfect when you need to create something special in no time.

This little book isn’t complete but I thought I’d show you a few close ups of what I’ve done so far…

I’ll share more photos when I complete the project.

Have a great day!

Vintage-Style Santa Tags

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Paradise Scrapbook Boutique is having their Annual Gift Workshop this Saturday.

I’ve designed these little Vintage-Style tags for a mini class at the workshop.  I’m super-excited to be participating in the workshop, Paradise Scrapbook Boutique is my home away from home!

If you live in the area, stop by PSB.  There will be all kinds of handmade gift classes at low-low prices!

I’m hoping to get quite a few projects finished up this weekend (more blog fodder, YAY)!

Here’s to a productive weekend!

XOXO, Christie

Vintage Christmas Charm Swap…

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

This weekend is packed full of projects & fun.

I’ve been working on these little charms for a swap I’m doing:

Here’s a close up (I threw in a sharpie pen to give you an idea of how small these charms are…they’re about the size of a nickle).

I’m also taking this class today at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique:

To top it all off, I get to see this with my friend Laura tonight:

YAY!  What a fantastic Saturday!

Memories…

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I remember little of being an 8 year old but one memory I do hold dear involves a Cherry Tree.

This particular Cherry Tree was in my Grandma Wolfe’s font yard.  While climbing the branches, my cousins and I would fill a huge bowl with the reddest, plumpest, juiciest cherries.

I loved to lay down on the grass in the sunshine, I would close my eyes and feel the warmth on my face.  I remember the sound of the wind through the trees.  I would eat cherries until my stomach hurt.

My cousins and I always picked cherries for Grandma and Grandpa.  I remember Grandma’s face when we would bring her the huge bowl, she was always so pleased when we placed it in her hands…Grandma’s eyes would shine with love, she would touch my face and kiss my cheek; her hands were wrinkled but her skin was so soft.

To this day, I still love cherries.  I love to lay down in the sunshine and I love to feel the sun’s warmth on my face.  I love the sound of the wind in the trees and when I close my eyes, I feel peace.

I now wonder if the peace I feel today is in part a remnant of the 8 year old child, lying in the grass with no real worries, feeling only the joy of childhood. I’d like to think so.

Vintage Costume Jewelry

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Remember all of Grandma’s Costume Jewelry?  I do.  I spent hours with my cousins playing dress up.  We’d be so glamorous with our fake pearls and diamond earrings.

I found a fun way to use an old brooch on a scrapbooking layout.  Definitely not one to go inside an album (way too bulky) but perfect for a page displayed in a shadow box or on canvas.  Now this is some vintage bling with a new ring.

Have a fantastic Halloween!

Love, Christie
