Fun with BIND-IT-ALL

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

I purchased my own Zutter Bind-it-all at the last big scrapbooking crop I attended at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. I have REALLY enjoyed using it! I can bind whatever I want!

First things first, remember that huge mess on my desk the other night? Before I could possible start another project I had to clean it up.

Ah, much better.

Alrighty. I started with some random little ATC pages from 7 Gypsies. Then I grabbed Jenni Bowlin Tags…a bit of Teresa Collins paper, some Tim Holtz tags and the I chalked it all and punched holes in each page with the Bind-it-all!

To be completely honest, my Bind-it-all has been catching my eye for the past few days…I just really wanted to use the thing so I created a reason to do it! I’m glad I did because I ended up with this little mini journal sorta book:

Now, what to use it for…hmmm…maybe I’ll use it to write down all the cute thing my kids say…?

I can’t help myself…

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

I mentioned yesterday that this red, white and blue Jenni Bowlin paper made me want to do an Independence Day Garland….well as you can see, I couldn’t help myself.  Had to do it.  It’s a simple little garland but it makes me happy!  I love the 4th of July celebrations - probably because it’s so close to my birthday…

Loving the Mini Garlands…

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

The other day while at a crop up at PSB I designed a little mini-garland for Father’s Day.  I’ve found myself addicted to making these little mini-garlands.  I just made a “Home Sweet Home” garland using the new Jenni Bowlin Paper.  I love this paper…it’s so much fun to use!  I painted one of the Maya Roads mini chipboard houses red and stuck it in the middle.  And of course I had to tie the whole thing together with the heart paper clips.  No garland would be complete without some sparkle…had to hang some from the hearts!

I’m thinking a Independence Day garland is coming up next (I’m sure the red-white-and-blue brought on the urge).

Sprocket Woman…

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Sprocket Woman’s real name is Mrs. Larrence (my son’s 4th grade teacher). Sprocket woman is AMAZING! These are the facts: She’s married to Sprocket Man (Super Heroes like to marry other Super Heroes), she wears her red cape and mask around school, she created a “Bike Shop” for the kids in her class and for the last 3 months has had a real “Bike Shop” owner donating time each day, teaching the kids to repair bicycles. Sprocket Woman had had a bike extravaganza and school (they gave away 20 bikes, even more helmets, bike locks and safety pads), created “Bike Safety” day at school and also was in charge of “Ride Your Bike To School Week” where the kids have to check in and sign a bike safety contract.

The students in her class are learning all aspects of business…she has some in sales, some in book-keeping, etc. My son is learning to be a Bike Mechanic (he has always loved to take things apart and put them back together).  She has even made business cards for each student!  Fun!

Seriously…the kids love this and Sprocket Woman (Mrs. Larrence) is an outstanding teacher. If you think this is cool, you should have seen the classroom when they studied Egypt! They made their room into a museum and built a Tomb for other classes to tour (of course she was Pharaoh Larrence). Yup, she sure does know how to go the extra mile!

I was thinking about end of year gifts for my children’s teachers and wanted to do something cool for them. Obviously I chose to make a “Sprocket Woman” wall hanging…I couldn’t resist when I bought the Tim Holtz Sprocket Gears! I hope Sprocket Woman likes it!

“Mother Dear, I love you so” - A Mother’s Day Layout

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

I finished my Mother’s Day Layout for PSB this afternoon…Now you can see what I did with those pretty paper flowers. I’m sure Karen will post this layout on the PSB site sometime in the next couple of days.

It’s now almost 3 in the morning. I swear…I’m out of control. I’ve started organizing my scrapbooking supplies, I feel like my scrapbook area at home has been such a crazy mess.

I was inspired to organize because I’m getting ready to launch my site soon. AND PSB is having a Scrapbook Yard Sale on National Scrapbook Day. It’s a good chance to weed through my stash…although, I’ve been so into sorting that I forgot to go to bed! OK…{yawn} I’m off to catch some Z’s. At least tomorrow is Saturday, maybe my kids will let me sleep in a little this morning (If my sweet husband keeps them at bay). Ah well, I’m sure I’ll catch up one of these days.

Oh, it’s May 5th now (even if it is after 2am). Happy birthday to my Mother-in-law!!!

Tiny little details

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

They’re my FAVORITE part of creating a scrapbook page layout. I love to add the little details. I think that’s why I’ve been enjoying the ATC cards (all there is room for is detail).

The little things, that is how I put the “love” in my memory albums (no matter how big or small). The little details tell my story…the little extra “thought” that I put into creations to let my family and friends know that I care. What do you enjoy most about scrapbooking? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Can’t get enough of that ATC!

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

OK, I’m determined to finish my “2007″ ATC Holder! I love the tiny details one can place on the ATC Cards. What can I say, it’s fun! I hope you enjoy them too. I’m still loving those Teresa Collins papers, they’re two-sided and so, so versatile! I also used some Maya Roads, Jenni Bowlin and 7gypsies!

Izabelle’s Sick Day

Friday, February 29th, 2008

This week has been super crazy. I feel like every time I turn around all my time is scheduled…sometimes even double-scheduled.

Izabelle stayed home from school today…that meant I had to stay home from work. I suddenly found that I had some extra time while Izabelle was resting in her room. No, not time to fold laundry, do dishes, vacuum, walk the dog, or go grocery shopping…none of that boring, time consuming stuff for me. Instead I picked up the box containing my new 7 Gypsies ATC Holder and cracked it open.

I’ve decided that I’m going to do a “Year in Review” for 2007 - while it’s still somewhat fresh in my mind. I finished the first Month. I’ll post the ATC card photos as I complete them.
