A Halloween Boo-thday Party…

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

Wow. This week FLEW by!

I was a bit sick. OK…I was a lot sick. But I’m on the mend now and headed to a theme park with my hubby and kids this weekend.

A great way to recover, don’t you think?

I was going to be all crafty and wait to share photos of Izabelle’s Halloween Birthday Party until after I had lovingly scrapbooked the photos…that didn’t happen.

Life happened instead (life likes to mess with me a little sometimes).

Izabelle wanted to make cupcakes that looked like hamburgers for her party. She decided that her cupcakes would be a little more Halloween-like if she added a “tail” and turned them into rat burgers.

Needless to say, her friends thought the rat burgers were pretty darn awesome!

Izabelle and her friends made white chocolate ghosts, homemade slime and candy sushi during the party (thank goodness I had my mother and sister there to help).

I though the kids would want to take most of their treats home….boy was I wrong.

They were pretty hyped-up on sugar.

Some of the braver kids wanted their photos taken with the dead witch.

Ah, kids.

Izabelle’s party was so fun (and very exhausting for mom), I’m sure she is already planning next year’s party.

Spookified Izabelle:

Simple Halloween Garland

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

This little garland is hanging in my living room right now.

It was very easy to make…for the life of me I cannot remember the line of scrapbook paper I used (I purchased the paper in 2009). I love this Halloween paper because all six sweet Halloween images were on one sheet of 12″ x 12″ paper.

I simply cut out the images, chalked the edges and then backed each image with black cardstock.

I punched a couple holes at the top of each image and strung them together with orange ribbon.

Once I hung the garland on the wall, I weaved a leaf garland and some black mesh through the orange ribbon.

Not the most creative thing in the world but I like it.

Simple and fun!

If you recognize this Halloween paper line…please clue me in (I’m hopeless). Thanks!

Izabelle’s Zombie Virus {Graphic 45 + Shimmerz}

Monday, October 18th, 2010

For those of you who know my daughter, Izabelle, you know that she’s a super-fun kid!

Belle had a blast with a “Zombie Virus” Halloween label.  She stuck it on a can of lemonade and then pretended to become a Zombie.

I took some photos put together this layout using Graphic 45 Hallowe’en in Wonderland and some Shimmerz paintz.  Dripping some Peas Be Mine Shimmerz Pearlz on the tag created a slime effect.

Remember this card?  I used the same idea for the pumpkins on this layout.

We’re getting close to Halloween now…only a couple of weeks!

Cooper’s First Halloween

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

October 31st will be Cooper’s (my nephew) first Halloween!

When Cooper came over to play the other day he was wearing this cute orange vampire shirt (the vampire’s white fangs don’t show up in these photos).

Love that it said, “Kiss?”

When he really wants to Bite.

Just had to take a picture.

What a cutie.  Love that little guy.

Cosmo Cricket {Haunted}

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Cosmo Cricket’s Haunted Line is such a classic.

I {heart} Cosmo Cricket.

I’m down to scraps and a few embellishments but I keep coming back for more…I wonder if I can create a layout from what is left of my Haunted stash. We’ll see.

I dressed these Cosmo cards up with a bit of glitter and crepe paper.

Do you have a classic line that you keep going back to?

Have a spook-tacular day!

Shimmery Pumpkin Card

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Handmade pumpkins?  Easy-peesy.

Just cut out three ovals, spritz, paint and glue together. Voila!

For the pumpkins I used: Fiery Fiesta Shimmerz Vibez and Carrot Top Shimmerz Pearlz.

Have a wonderful day!

The Last Few Weeks

Monday, October 11th, 2010

I’m back!  Are you excited? Me too!

Have you been wondering what I’ve been up to?

Christie, what on earth have you been up to?

If you had actually asked the above question, this would have been my reply:

Baking, birthday parties, cleaning, sewing curtains, driving to Utah, going to the circus, helping kids with homework, showing up for work on time, finishing design team projects, visiting grandparents, driving to California, helping my best friend take care of her brand new baby, cooking meals, driving, more scrapbooking projects, more driving, visiting my brother and his wife, playing with my nieces, training the new girl at the California store, farmers market, laundry, attending studio dedications, purchasing new brakes for my car, working, more cleaning, dusting – lots and lots of dusting, packing, even more driving, unpacking, eating and SCRAPBOOKING!

for the last two weeks I have averaged about 2-4 hours of sleep per night.

I just know you feel sorry for me, right?

If you don’t, you should (not really).

Paradise ScrapbookBoutique

My happy place. A place where I am surrounded by friends, love, laughter, good food and plenty of beautiful scrapbooking supplies.

With help from my handy dandy camera, I’ve photographed some of the wonderful faces, places and most of the craziness that has been my life the past few weeks. I will share some of my photos soon. For now, I’m headed to bed, straight to the sweet, comfy, warm loveliness that will sooth my tired body.

Graphic 45 + Pennsylvania Bag Company

Monday, October 4th, 2010

I love October!

I’m so glad it’s here. I love to see the trees change colors, the cooler weather, the holiday preparations.

Halloween is definitely one of my Favorite Holidays. The kids get so excited about costumes and decorating the house…what’s not to love?

Speaking of Halloween…

When I received my design team supplies from Graphic 45 there was a brown gift bag tucked in from Pennsylvania Bag Company.

Each member was asked to design a Halloween treat bag, this is what I came up with.

I used the new Graphic 45 Core Impressions paper by, Core’dinations to create the pumpkins. I spritzed the pumkins with Fiery Fiesta Shimmerz Vibez to turn to tan embossed paper a little more orange. You can’t really tell in this photo but there are embossed clocks all over the pumpkins.

I hope that you have a fantastic week!

Spooky Home Decor

Monday, September 27th, 2010

I’ve just returned from a weekend in Utah and am headed out to Salt Lake again next weekend, then traveling to CA the following week. My daughter is having her “spooky” birthday party this Friday and I’m busy trying to finish up design team assignments. Please forgive me for neglecting my blog. I’m wishing I could share all my projects right now.

Here are some more photos of the spookiness that’s popping up around my house:

Pictured Clockwise: quick handmade pillowcases using Halloween fabric, my fireplace mantel all dressed up for Halloween, A little “Boo” garland in my kitchen, a Halloween tree decorated with Halloween charms, a simple table runner created with the leftover Halloween fabric from the pillows, a spooky Halloween house and spider web, a hanging skeleton and creepy skeletal candle holders.
