My Minds Eye {Lost & Found} Portobello Road

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Labor Day Weekend has arrived.

I’m ready!

Before I take off to my (much anticipated) Family Reunion,

I thought I’d share another My Minds Eye Layout.

This layout came together quickly.

Almost the entire layout was created with the

My Minds Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road Line

(excluding the Wide Sheer Ribbon, Cardstock & Shimmerz).

Speaking of Shimmerz,

I used some of the Shimmerz Pearlz to create the Pin Dots in the corners of this layout.

But the sparkly, “Handsome Boy” label:

My Minds Eye.

Yep.

And the fun brads:

You guessed it,

My Minds Eye.

Love this paper.

It’s a little bit of Scrapbooker’s Heaven.

In other news:

Remember those photo albums of my Grandmother’s that my father found?

The precious and rare albums that were not destroyed in the fire?

I’m finally done scanning photos.

And almost done creating the photo CD’s for my cousins.

I thought I’d share of few of my favorites:

Grandma Clara giving my little brother, Seth his first bath.

It was a tradition that Grandma Clara gave all her grandchildren their first bath.

{You can see me in the photo…I’m in the mirror}

Left to right: Rachel Wolfe, Tarah Wolfe Livingston, Grandma Clara, Rebecca Wolfe, Corianne Wolfe and Christie Wolfe Bryant

This photo shows the nightgowns that Grandma Clara made for each of her granddaughters that lived nearby. Having a matching nightgown with my cousins is a favorite Christmas memory.

Grandma Clara on her front porch.

Grandma lived in Paradise, California for many, many years (not sure the exact number).

They don’t often get snow in Paradise

but when they do – Grandma loved it!

I can’t wait to share these (and many more) special photos with my cousins.

Thanks for stopping by,

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo, Christie

Life Happens…Along With All It’s Surprises

Monday, August 30th, 2010

School started.

That lovely time of year when I seem to have more creative time.

The time of year when the children become subject to all the germs floating around public school.

Surprise! Only three days of school and already my sweet Izabelle has been very sick with a stomach flu.

Poor thing, she’s on the mend now…kind of.

I have put away the carpet cleaner (yes, it got that bad). Yuk.

-oOo-

This paper has been waiting patiently for me:

Lovely My Mind’s Eye paper, I will play with you soon.

I’m longing to do something creative.

Isn’t it funny how I always think that next month I’ll have more time?

Next month always brings more lovely tasks with it.

I am behind.

This includes being behind on my blog posts. Again.

-oOo-

I do have fun news to share:

While I was in California helping my parents pack up their home, my father came across some priceless photos.

We thought that all of my Grandma Clara’s photos burned in a fire several years ago.

Well, SURPRISE! My father found several albums that his mother (Grandma Clara) had made just for him!

So exciting!

Especially since we have a Wolfe Family Reunion this Weekend!

I’m going to surprise (yes, another surprise) my sweet cousins with photos of our amazing Grandmother.

Grandma Clara passed over 16 years ago. We all loved her so dearly, she was the glue that held the Wolfe family together.  This weekend will actually be the first family reunion we’ve had since she was alive.

So, I will be busy scanning photos for the next few days….and burning disks…and cleaning house…and packing…

I’ll be back soon.

I know, I know, I’ve been saying that a lot.

Oh, almost forgot to share,

I made these fun fabric flowers (thanks for the tutorial Courtney):

Love to you all

xoxo, Christie

Melissa Frances {Kitschy Kitchen}

Monday, August 16th, 2010

I’m starting to scrapbook some of my more recent memories.

California

July 2010

My kids with their two little California Cousins.

I’m loving the New Melissa Frances, Kitschy Kitchen Line.

I found it here.

I added a little stitching…

Love using my sewing machine!

…made a few folded flowers.

What is the technical name for these flowers?

I need to find out.

I was inspired by this:

Nothing like playing with Sassafras Paper!

Darling,

sweet

little Addie.

Gosh I love this little niece of mine.

I’m having so much fun with my new Shimmerz Colors.

I used Accu-Cut Dies to cut out an “Addie” stencil and then Spritzed away.

And I used my new Shimmerz paint on the edge of the page.

I also spritzed like crazy on these precious little Vintage Tags by

Pretty Little Studio.

Such cute little girl images.

I love the little Bunting Flags!

So, so fun to play with!

Echo Park {Life is Good}

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Spending time at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique

always feels like coming home.

Not only did I get to spend time with my beloved ‘Scrappy Friends’

I also got to browse Karen’s Beautiful store.

While browsing, I found this beautiful new Echo Park paper.

I just love it!

Had to create a layout with it right away.

It was so bright and fun to work with.

Just like all the ladies that hang out there at PSB!

Children grow WAY too fast.

Take for instance, these little ones:

Little Miss Addie.

She’s dang adorable, right?

And Darling Kayla:

They’re growing way too fast also.

Please. stop. growing. so. fast.

I can hardly stand it!

My heart can’t take this much cute!

It’s fun to have cousins.

Blog Update: Part Two {Celebrate}

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

July 3rd was spent watching the most amazing firework display ever in Idaho Falls.

Seriously,

in my all years spent on this beautiful earth,

I have never seen Fireworks like this before.

Dan and I purchased some little fireworks to set off on July 4th with the kids.

We headed out to my parent’s ranch to set them off.

Sparklers are always a must.

I am absolutely no good at photographing fireworks…

…Something for me to work on by next year:

Firework photos.

My daredevil not-so-little brother, Seth, decided to kamikaze-style-jump

over our fountain fireworks.

NOT a good example for my children.

We had to have “a talk” about safe choices on the way home.

There is funny.

And then there is just. plain. dangerous.

Oh brother!

Litterally.

My friend, Clara stopped by last Friday,

She wanted some help creating a shadow-box layout for her boyfriend, Victor.

Clara’s Layout turned out cute, right?

Here’s a few little details…

I helped Clara make this little tag, I absolutely adore her handwriting:

I made her stick one of my homemade fabric flowers on her layout:

Clara’s sister, Courtney tied these buttons together, such a cute idea:

Here’s a look at the finished product:

In other news…

Today was my 34th Birthday.

Yep.

34.

When did that happen?

My sweet little Izabelle made this mini cake using her Sculpey Clay:

It’s teeny-tiny.

I love it:

Here’s an scale picture (ignore my weird-looking skin color):

Another cool announcement:

I’m headed to California at the end of the month.

I’ll be teaching a Graphic 45 “Wonderland” class at

Paradise Scrapbook Boutique

I’m so excited!

Speaking of Graphic 45,

Look at their new EMBELLISHMENTS:

Chipboard Buttons and Policy Envelopes.

I can’t wait to play with this new product!

Super fun!

OK.

I think I’m caught up!

Hopefully I’ll be back to my normal posting schedule soon.

Thank you for your patients while I’ve had such a busy Summer.

Blog Update: Part One {Laura’s Visit}

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

To all my State-side friends…

I hope that you enjoy a blessed Independence Day.

It’s been awhile

This Summer has proven to be not only busy

but really, really FUN!

Laura and her girls, Hannah and Abigale visited last week.

They braved the 14 hour trip from California to Idaho

and arrived intact and happy!

Laura, 7 months pregnant with two little ones…

She is the very definition of brave.

Amongst the trips to the Splash Park,

Yellowstone’s Bear World

and Old Faithful.

We also had a quick trip to the Emergency Room.

Yep,

The. Emergency. Room.

Laura had some early contractions, which were a little too close together.

Really scary.

But alas, after close monitoring and an exam,

all was well (mostly) and they sent Laura on her merry way (a little slower than before).

She promised to take it a little easier.

______________________________

I took hundreds of photos while Laura and her girls were here…

…you know the photos will end up in future Scrapbook Pages

but I’ll share a few more anyway.

Izabelle and Hannah feeding the ducks:

Izabelle and Parker waiting for Old Faithful

(I think they looked a bit scared that It might erupt behind them while I was taking their photo):

A lazy guy at Bear World:

Also, last Wednesday was Keith’s Birthday (he’s in the photo above w/ the Bear World Crew).

I made him this card:

I have many more photos and projects to share…

Soon. Promise.

I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend!

xoxo, Christie

La-La-Life Gets in the Way….

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Summer is definitely in  full swing, baby!

I am so sorry that my blog has been neglected.

It seems that the only time I have to browse blogs and

check email is after midnight.

The photo above is a peek at one of my TransAtlantique projects for Graphic 45.

I’ve finished a few additional projects (mostly Girls Paperie)

I simply need to find the time during my waking hours to photograph them.

Soon.

I promise.

Spring cleaning.

Today I’m feeling it.

I’ve already deep cleaned the microwave and the outside of my cupboards…

Next, the refrigerator and the oven.

Wish me luck (haha).

I created the above layout using the new Bo Bunny “Jazmyne” Line.

I was inspired by The Color Room’s Palette #8:

It’s not an exact match…but pretty darn close.

In the photo:  My Parker & Izabelle with their sweet little cousin Kayla

I miss that girl and her darling baby sister, Addie.
