Another Cosmo Cricket {Mitten Weather} Card

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

I love light blue and lavender together…it reminds me of my baby sister, Emilee’s wedding last December.

Emilee is coming up on her one year anniversary.  I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by!

Happy Wednesday!

Cosmo Cricket {Mitten Weather} Cards

Is it too early for Christmas cards?

I got out my sewing machine to add “a little something” to these.

I love snowmen.  This little guy was so cute…he deserved to be on a card.

Have I mentioned before that I love buttons?

When in doubt

add a button.

Cosmo Cricket {Mitten Weather}

I received this fabulous Cosmo Cricket paper in one of my goodie bags at the Paradise Scrapbook Boutique crop I went to earlier this month. I finally got a chance to play with it yesterday.

This little chipboard snowman was also in the goodie bag.  I dressed him up with some Shimmerz (Pearl, Luscious Lilac and a little Carrot Top for the nose).

Shimmerz Pixie Dust was also my constant companion during the making of this layout. I used it on this little Santa face:

And I used it on the snowflakes (cut from the Cosmo Cricket paper).

The little felt snowflakes were also included in my Paradise Scrapbook Boutique goodie bag, pretty darn fun, right?

Just wait until you see what I’ve done with the goodie bag I received on day two of my Paradise Scrapbook Boutique Crop!

Happy Wednesday!

Cosmo Cricket {Haunted}

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Cosmo Cricket’s Haunted Line is such a classic.

I {heart} Cosmo Cricket.

I’m down to scraps and a few embellishments but I keep coming back for more…I wonder if I can create a layout from what is left of my Haunted stash. We’ll see.

I dressed these Cosmo cards up with a bit of glitter and crepe paper.

Do you have a classic line that you keep going back to?

Have a spook-tacular day!

California and Back Again

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Hello Friends!  I’m home!

I loved my little break from the Idaho snow and really enjoyed all the GREEN in California.  It’s so beautiful there right now.

We had a little birthday Party for Parker while in CA last Friday night…he turned 13!   I can’t believe that my son is a teenager!  Watch out world (or maybe it’s just me and my hubby that need to watch out)!

It was so fun to visit family and friends.  I really needed to see each and every one of them.  My cup runneth over.

We drove into our driveway last night and the snow was gone!  This morning I awoke to the sun shining through the window, it’s fabulous…must have brought home a little California sunshine.

I have lots of projects and California photos to share, I’m sure they will fill more than a few posts…for now I thought I’d share a couple of cards that I made with my leftover Cosmo Cricket paper, both simple but both say “Spring” to me.

I’m looking forward to catching up on all of your blogs!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Handmade Cards…

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I made a few cards using my Cosmo Cricket leftovers.  The photos aren’t very clear (sorry).

I hope that you are all enjoying your summer!  Does anyone have anything fantastic planned?  I’d love to hear about your plans for the summer!

I’m still busy, busy…but not too busy to blog surf tonight!  I’ll be stopping by to catch-up and say “Hi” to all of you on your blogs!

Time is UP! 300th Post Giveaway!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a giveaway on my blog.  My 300th post seems like a good enough excuse to give something away, don’t you think?

I love the Cosmo Cricket line, Early Bird; it speaks to me.  When it speaks it says, “Make a Mini Cook Book Christie.”

That is exactly what I did.  I made a Mini Cook Book.  6×6 inches of Cosmo Cricket Love and it can be YOURS for the low price of….er…I guess it would be ‘the low price of’ FREE (if you win it)!

This book has a pocket on each page to slip in recipe cards.  I found the cutest FREE vintage recipe card download…check it out HERE.

If you want to win the Mini Cook Book, simply leave a comment on this post. I will randomly select a winner one week from today (Tuesday, June 16th).

Happy Birthday Layout

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Please, PAY ATTENTION to the woman behind the curtain, she may be hiding behind the camera but she’s no Wizard of Oz.

I really like the idea of the family scrapbooker telling a little more about herself (or himself).  My last couple of classes have been designed with the family historian in mind.

The class I taught at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique last February was called: A Little About Me

This month’s class is called: Happy Birthday to Me

So many times we tend to tell the story of our family but forget to mention ourselves.  I’ve done it.  Time and time again.  Lately, I’ve felt inspired to share a little more about myself…maybe this is why I’ve nudged the ladies who take my classes in the same direction.

Cosmo Cricket Halloween Layouts

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Getting tired of seeing my Halloween photos?  It’s not even October yet and I’m getting a little tired of Halloween…maybe it’s because I threw a “Halloween” birthday party for Izabelle last weekend. I had Halloween coming out my ears!

I originally created these layouts to fill my shadow boxes.  These are photos from last Halloween (the year that Daddy took the kids Halloween Costume shopping).  Parker chose his scariest costume yet, the “Ghost Face” and my sweet little Izabelle decided to be a “Zombie”.  Yikes!  What happened to my little fairy princess?

When I set the following layouts on the table (preparing to put them in the shadow boxes), Izabelle informed me that last year’s costume was “too scary” to hang on the wall.  I argued that she picked it out, therefore she’ll have to look at it in a frame for awhile (at least until I can create another layout).  This year she’s going to be a werewolf, I don’t think that a werewolf is much tamer than a Zombie…

I used the Cosmo Cricket line to create the following simple layouts for Halloween 2007:

Here’s a closer look at some of the details:

Cosmo Cricket has got it goin’ on!

I’m so inspired by this new Halloween paper!  I know, I know…Halloween is still awhile off but I couldn’t help myself!  I came up with this little diddy last Saturday night while cropping at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique (LOVE it there)!
