Cards…

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

I love to make cards with my leftover paper.

The other day, I decided it was time to clean up my desk, which usually involves creating a couple of cards.

In the case of these cards, I used leftovers from Pink Paislee.

I gave this card to Izabelle’s teacher on the last day of school.

It ended up being perfect since the card reads, ‘No. 5′.

Izabelle just finished 5th grade.

I also added a little glitter to the wings on the fairy.

It’s Saturday! I’m so glad.

Today, Izabelle and I are going to help my sister groom her horses while Parker and Dan head out to shoot some targets. Then tonight we’re headed to The Riot Zone for some family fun. Love Saturdays.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend too.

Red Hair + Love {Scarlet Lime “Fresh Picked” Kit}

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Red Hair.

My sister and I both have it.

Red hair is not only a Wolfe family trait, it is also a Crabtree family trait. My sister and I got a double-helping of ginger from both parents.

I used to hate my red hair. Now, I actually like it.

I’m just hoping it hangs around for awhile and doesn’t turn gray.

I really loved my Scarlet Lime kit. It was so fun to play with.

I created the Spring wall-hanging I posted yesterday, the Red Hair layout above and the Love card below. Believe it or not, I still have leftover paper and embellishments!

Scarlet Lime, I love you.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Summer Vacation is here!

A Gift From Sandy Ang

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

A little while back I judged a blog challenge for Sandy Ang.

Sandy Ang is SO talented and has the best tutorials on her blog.

I received this amazing card when I opened my mail box yesterday:

A handmade card from Sandy, sent all the way from Singapore!  And WOW! Look at the detail:

Sandy also decorated these adorable “little monkey” glasses:

I tried to get some photos of my nephew, Cooper wearing these glasses this morning…every time I would try to snap a shot, he would take the glasses off. Go figure. It didn’t change how cute these glasses are!

Thank you for the card and gift Sandy, they are both amazing!

A Fabric Project

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

If you have about…oh…14 or so hours to spare, you may want to make one of these fabric wreaths:

The accent colors in my living room are green and black, which explains the color choice. My Mom is responsible for planting the idea in my brain.

Mom made something similar by pinning fabric into foam balls.

I chose to pin fabric into a foam wreath.

A very EASY task but also a very TIME CONSUMING task.

This wreath was made by cutting small squares (about 2 1/2 inches) with pinking shears. Then, one at a time, folding fabric squares and sticking them into a foam wreath with straight-pins.

Luckily I had a little helper, my daughter, Izabelle. It took Izabelle and I several evenings working together to finish the wreath.

I LOVE the way the wreath turned out…it’s easy to work on while watching a movie or two.

Here’s a little card I made:

This card was published in Scrap N Art Magazine.

Here is Where Our Story Begins

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

Funny to think that if these two people did not fall in love, I would have never been born.

My mother would never have been born.

My mother’s story….my story begins with their story.

Their Love story.

I’m visiting my grandmother in Utah this coming weekend. I’ll record her love story while I’m there, can’t wait.

I created some rosettes using ribbon instead of fabric for this layout.  So many possibilities with the little rolled rosettes…layouts, pillows, wreaths…

Here’s a quick little card I put together with leftover scraps on my desk:

Arrivederci!

3 Bugs in a Rug {Chloe + April Showers}

Friday, February 18th, 2011

While I was at the Paradise Scrapbook Boutique Crop in California, I was able to play with the new 3 Bugs in a Rug lines, Chloe and April Showers.

Both of these layouts are 9″x9″.  I had a hard time adjusting down from 12″x12″, especially with so many fun embellishments to play with.

I still can’t believe how glorious the weather was in California while I was there.  I heard from friends that it has been pouring rain in Chico and in Paradise it snowed!  Crazy!  It’s like the cherry blossoms bloomed just for me (or I’d like to think so anyway).

Izabelle was so funny trying to ride her cousin’s tricycle.  Kayla loved taking a ride on the back.

Here are a couple of cards that I made with the leftover 3 Bugs in a Rug paper.

It was so wonderful to visit so many good friends and family while I was in California.

Oh!  Just found out today that Dan, the kids and I are headed to Las Vegas next month!  Fun! Fun!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Valentines Day!

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Happy LOVE day!

I’m traveling back to Idaho today with mixed feelings.  I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again, a home-cooked meal, my sweet nephew (among other amazing family) but I sure am going to miss my friends and family here in California.  It’s always so wonderful to visit.

While I was here I attended a Valentine Crop at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique (a little bit of Heaven).

Yes, those are BLOSSOMS! Blossoms in FEBRUARY! Can you believe it? I still have six feet of snow in my front yard!

Beautiful, pink, lovely blossoms.

Look at the amazing goodies we received at the PSB Valentine Crop:

Karen always spoils us.  What an amazing woman!

I spent the whole day with good friends, a much-needed visit.  It was an added bonus to spend the day with my bloggie friend Char (who is fabulous)! We met in person for the first time at the PSB Crop. Check out Char’s Blog.  This woman is tal-en-ted!

And I got to visit with Devanie, I haven’t seen her in SO long. It was fun to catch  up.

In honor of Valentines day, I’ll share the simple Valentines I made while cropping (also shown above)…

This one is made with the candy cups:

Making Memories + K&Company =

This one has some sewn polka-dot ric-rac that I purchase while at Material Girls in Utah:

I used Pink Paislee rub-ons on this one. Quick and simple:

I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day, as for me…I’ll be stuck in the car for 14 hours with my loved ones (hopefully we’ll still love each other when we reach our destination).

Feel the love!

Graphic 45 {Curtain Call} Cards and Layout – 2011 CHA Projects

Monday, February 7th, 2011

I absolutely LOVE this new Graphic 45 line called, Curtain Call. Can you imagine how gorgeous it could be with some red accents?

The design team was asked to keep our projects within the color scheme of the line…so no red for now but just you wait!

I had a lot of fun making paper flowers and adding glitter…loads of glitter.

This photo of my grandmother is so fantastic!  I love that she looks like a movie star…so beautiful!

Another paper flower…

And more glitter on those peacock feathers.

The DT was also asked to make a paper LP with this line…this was my take:

Yes, yes. More glitter.

I’m hanging out in California this week – it’s absolutely gorgeous here!  I’m in heaven.

When we left Idaho it was 12 degrees (brrrr).  We’ve traded our measly 12 degrees for the wonderfully warm 75 degrees of Northern California.

Here’s a few shots I took of us enjoying the gorgeous weather today:

Yes, Parker is wearing flip-flops (and holstered cap-guns).  Craziness!

My gorgeous daughter (gush).

Bidwell Park.

Look!  No snow! It’s a miracle!

My adorable niece, Addie.

Holy moly she’s cute!

Izabelle goofing off with my sweet niece, Kayla (another gorgeous girl).

One can actually see the grass here.  And can you believe that my sister-in-law has already started here garden?  How am I to return to c-c-cold Idaho next Monday?

Enjoying California,

Christie xx

Making Memories {Je t’adore} Valentine Cards

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Taking a little break from sharing my Graphic 45 CHA projects…

I created these little Valentines yesterday using the Je t’adore Line from Making Memories.

My sewing machine was unpacked and dusted off.

I’m sure it was happy to be of use again (if a sewing machine can be happy, that is).

I love this line…maybe it’s because I LOVE Valentine paper.

I’m headed to California on Sunday.  Can’t wait to visit family and friends in the Golden State HELLO SUNSHINE!

I will be happy to leave behind the -23 degree Idaho weather.  Brrrrrrrr.

Dear Spring,

please hurry.
