Vintage Costume Jewelry
Remember all of Grandma’s Costume Jewelry? I do. I spent hours with my cousins playing dress up. We’d be so glamorous with our fake pearls and diamond earrings.
I found a fun way to use an old brooch on a scrapbooking layout. Definitely not one to go inside an album (way too bulky) but perfect for a page displayed in a shadow box or on canvas. Now this is some vintage bling with a new ring.
Have a fantastic Halloween!
Love, Christie

I still love to dress up in fake pearls and vintage bling! It looks so pretty on your page!
Thanks for your pumpkin muffin recipe a few days ago, Christie… I made mini-muffins with a tiny spot of frosting to hold up a candy corn for the school party today. I tried to keep the sugar down~they’ll get PLENTY today, but these look festive. I havn’t tried one yet, but they sure smell good!
Have a super fun and safe Halloween with your family!

Rare and vintage jewelry from the estate of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, Pickfair, their legendary Beverly Hills mansion, will be auctioned off Nov.22-23. The cool thing is you can bid online at http://www.auctionnetwork.com/pickfair. Some samples: http://www.auctionnetwork.com/UpcomingItem.asp?EventId=29041&ShowId=282
You don’t actually have to be at the auction. Thought i’d pass along to you fellow vintage jewelry lovers!

Okay, Chocolate Lovers out there; listen up! Do I have a recipe for you! This great old recipe is from the folks at Hershey’s Chocolate. Chocolate and cherries just seem to go together and this recipe is more proof of that. When you serve these tasty squares to your friends, be sure to have a copy of the recipe handy. They are sure to ask for it. Or you can be secretive, if you want, and tell them it’s one of your vintage recipes that you just don’t share. But be warned, they will be expecting you to make them anytime you get together.
