We Were The 80’s!

Gayla is having a “We Were the 80’s” day over at her blog “Where’s My Angels”.

I’m simply playing along…

In no particular order, when I think of the 80’s I think of:

But mostly, when I think of the 80’s, I think of BIG HAIR and BRACES!

My friend Laura and I…shameful but true.  It looks like I’m wearing drapes or wall paper. I think I had a bed spread with the same floral print.

And my all time favorite….I can’t believe I’m actually posting this photo…

To my credit, it was the fourth of July and I was trying to add “blue” to my red with the hideous bandanna.  But pay close attention to the bangle bracelets and very high bangs.  Sheesh.  I was totally the 80’s!  The only thing I had going for me in the 80’s was my naturally curly hair.  I never had to get a perm.

Now I’m truly embarrassed.

Hope you enjoyed the laugh!

Love, Christie

Okay that last photo is totally screaming “LOVER BOY” at me. I want to start singing “EVeryone is working for the weekend”

Funny to see the Drew Barrymore pic as we just watched ET today.

Your hair is natural curly isn’t it? You didn’t have to do the spiral perm did ya?

I have natural curly hair as well….that was a blessing in the 80’s for sure. I could get mine to stick up so big cause I had so much body to it.

  3. Heather Says:

As one who had naturally curly hair and STILL permed throughout the 80s, I’m regretfully jealous of the rest of you who exercised more restraint than teenaged me!

Love your pictures – those were some seriously fantabulous bangs!

    Happy 80s day! Cheers!

Love the pictures! I had curly hair in the 80’s — now I have straight as a board hair. After my last baby it went straight. LOL

We forgot about the blue jean jacket with all the buttons. How funny!

    Hugs

    The bandanna and bangs…wow.

I’ve always have said that my hair was meant for the 80s. It frizzes up quite nicely!

  6. Michelle Says:

Oh that was classic 80’s hair. I have a picture or two of me wearing jellies. Those were the most uncomfortable shoes ever!

  7. Shannon Says:

Girl, you were totally rocking the bandana. And with the bangs…man, you must have spent hours on your hair that morning.

  8. gingela5 Says:

Hahaha! Wow–I love the big hair and bandana! So classic! My hair was meant for the 80’s wavy, frizzy, big…too bad I flatten it everyday!

  9. Lex the Mom Says:

OMG! BIG HAIR, BIG HAIR! I love your hair (okay, not now, but I did at one time)! It looks like my own did, but mine was not as pretty a color! You’ve captured much of the 80s with your imagery! MJ when he seemed normal. I have my kids watching ET & they love it!

Yeah! Christie, you crack me up! Yep, I’m a product of the 80’s as well. Your friend’s bangs crack me up because I had the exact same “stick straight up” bangs. I, too, have naturally curly hair ~ yet, oddly, my mom let me perm it. What a mess. Definately an 80’s thing! Thanks for being brave and posting your 80’s picts.

Classic. I LOVE the bandana addition. Hilarious. And I’m glad you can look back and laugh at yourself, it shows what a great sense of humor you have.

I feel like I’ve been in a time machine now. Thank you! Of course these days so much of those fads are back. How scary is that???
