Hey Marley!  I think there is something lurking in the water…

I see it Marley….it’s over here…

This way, follow me…

Blog Banner Design…

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

0

So my husband and I have been trying to help my Mom start her new blog, “Hatched and Gone”.  It’s taking a bit more time than anticipated because

1. She’s in Idaho and we’re in California and

2. We’re trying to set her up with her own website, etc.

Don’t worry, I’ll give you all the “Linky Love” to her new site when it’s all up and running!

For now, I’ve just designed the banner to go along the top (like mine).  Mom likes it, so I guess I’m off to a good start!  What do you all think?  Do tell…

Hmmm…this gets me thinking.  I haven’t had any give-aways in awhile.  Maybe I should give away a “blog banner”.  Yep.  I’ll do that right now.  If you don’t have a blog, I’ll design a pretty scrapbook page for you.  Your choice.

So, leave a comment on this post and I’ll draw a name from the commenters on Sunday August 3rd!

Backyard Photos…Some Fun With My New Camera!

Exploring my parent’s backyard…

My Mom’s favorite, the willow tree

One view from the deck…the pool (yes, that’s one of my kiddo’s in the water).

The rest of these photos were just experimental with my new camera.  There are so many beautiful flowers, trees and bushes in the backyard….see for yourself:

Much Needed Girl Time

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

I spend all day Saturday at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  First teaching class, then just hanging out with the girls for the Saturday night crop.

I didn’t realise how much I needed this little “getaway” until I was there.  I had so much fun!  I laughed so hard I cried.  I talked about my husband and children and discussed similar experiences with other women.  I visited with a Mom with an Autistic child (like myself).  I bonded with these women.  I love my scrapbooking friends!

I came in to Paradise Scrapbook Boutique Saturday morning with my cup half-empty and left that night with my cup overflowing.

It is amazing how what friends and scrapbooking can do for my soul.  Thanks ladies!

Goodbye Friends…

Friday, July 25th, 2008

My Dad is finally packing up his horses and high-tailing it to Idaho….

Well, they moved there months ago…they still have they’re house here in California but now they’re in Idaho more than California…what with the new business and all…

And the new building to fill full of beautiful light fixtures…

What?

What did you say?  I can’t quite hear you.

Did you say we’re moving to Idaho?  Where is that?

Don’t worry.  It’s beautiful and smoke free in Idaho and the winter’s are splendid (eh hem).

Anyway.

My dad asked me to come over and help wash the horses and the dogs.  And get the tack all packed up and ready to go.

Who could say no to such a sweet cowboy?

Not me.

And the horses…they really did need a little bathing…

(Wow…you can still see the California Wild Fire smoke in these pictures.)

I will miss you my friends!

Yes, even you sweet Sky.

This is the baby in the photo with my Dad above….she’s HUGE now!

And I’ll miss sweet Bella and Maisy pooches too!

And as for Coach Marley (my pooch)…

I’ll know he’ll be missing his girlfriends.

….and the dog pond.

Good times.

The Secret is in the Sauce!

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

I do my blogging duty every day and visit The Secret is in the Sauce to check out who the Featured Blogger is.  Every day I comment in Roll Call and every day I comment on the Featured Bloggers site.  But TODAY…well, today is a different story because I am the Featured Blogger!  WHOO HOO!  I am seriously feeling a comment high.  I was supposed to leave for work 10 minutes ago and I just can’t drag myself away from my computer.  This is crazy cool!

Alas, I will be responsible and go to work…but I’ll totally be reading the comments in between tasks!

Thank you to all my SITS Sistas (and brothers).  This is so much fun!

To those of you who read my blog regularly and are not yet part of the wonderful SITS community…what are you waiting for CHECK IT OUT!

Mary Poppins came to visit…

In the most delightful way

For one month I’ve tried to get Parker to clean his room.

You’ve seen the photos, you couldn’t even walk into his room.

The floor was completely covered!

Parker’s room was so out of hand that I simply refused to clean it.

Parker would ‘try’ to do it himself…

which usually consisted of him picking up toys and piling them on his bed.

At night, when it was time to sleep,

all the toys would be shoved off onto the floor again.

Well thank goodness Mary Poppins came to visit today!

She worked miracles!

Mary moved the desk out from the wall and cleaned behind it, she cleaned out drawers, she moved the bed and cleaned out underneath it, she cleaned out the closet, she even moved the TV and cleaned out behind it!  Amazing!

I love Mary Poppins.

Better Late Than Never…

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

My husband bought me a birthday present:

I no longer care that it is almost 2 weeks late.  Who cares that he’s been working over time for the last month?  I no longer do…

I’ve been wanting this camera for who knows how long…and he just up and bought it for me!  How sweet is that?  Yep, he totally made up for the “no gift” birthday.

Shhh, don’t tell him but I really didn’t mind.  I understood and appreciated how busy he was…I just like razzing him a bit, aparantly the razzing payed off.

His excuse for the purchase:

“If I have to work all that over time, I should be able to buy my wife something cool”

Baby, thank you, this camera is definitely cool!
