Deep thoughts…OK, not so deep.

“Nice how we never get dizzy from doing good turns.”

–George Bengis

I received the above quote in my email a few days back.  I’ve had a little time to ponder it.  Sometimes I get so busy I do feel a little dizzy.  It always seems that when I am on the right path I don’t feel overwhelmed, when this happens, I actually feel good about the state of “busy-ness” that I am in and do not feel dizzy.

Everyone has their rough days and I am one person that is not excluded from this.  But I must say that I am truly grateful for every single day.  I am grateful for that which keeps me busy.  I am grateful for family and friends (that means you too, my fellow bloggers).  I am grateful for projects and inspiration, for time to read and ponder.

I love the Bengis quote above.  It speaks to me.

Friday Foto Finish (Zoob Dude)…

Friday, June 27th, 2008

It’s FRIDAY!  Can’t hardly believe it!  Time for another Friday Foto Finish, hosted by Candid Carrie!

I took this photo of my son Parker yesterday.  He’s been obsessed with “Zoobs” lately (Zoobs are a type of plastic block, they click together).  He made a “Spider-crown” for his head…it was supposed to be scary but  it looks more like a “Joker” hat to me!  Anyways…the photo is a little blurry because I couldn’t get him to hold still.  He also kept doing the weird “tuck his chin in” thing (frustrating).  Oh well!  After 5 shots I gave up!  He was so proud of the “Zoob Hat” I had to share!

I’ll be posting some projects soon….I have a bunch of Graphic 45 creations to share in July (after CHA Summer).  I really have been creating projects, you’ll see!  I am giving away one of my other projects, a Vintage Sweetheart Mini Album.  If you haven’t entered to win already check it out HERE

Happy Friday!

Lost with Bella and Edward…

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

My poor children, husband and dog…they have been so neglected the past couple of days. Heck, even the laundry is starting to really pile up! I can’t help it. Can’t. Help. It.

I was reading several of my SITS sista’s blogs and so many recommended this book:

I had a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble and I really needed a good Summer read. Now that I have no more Harry Potter to look forward to, I had to move on. When I was talking to a very helpful sales associate while at Barnes and Noble, she led me to a display of the Twilight Series. I bought all three books…couldn’t help it. I’m so glad I did…when I opened the first book, “Twilight” at 9:00pm on Sunday Night, I did not put it down until 4:30 am. Wow! I haven’t stayed up that late in ages! I. Could. Not. Put. It . Down.

So, after finishing the first book and getting some “proper” rest on Monday Night I started the next book in the series on Tuesday Night:

OK, this book was just as good as the first one. Again, I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. Less than halfway through and Stephenie Meyer’s writing had already moved me to tears. I have to admit, as tears continued to roll down my cheeks when I close the cover (to get some shut eye - I learned my lesson Sunday night) I thought to myself…”Wow, this is a pretty darn AWESOME book if it can move me this way”

We had some guests over this evening…I have to admit, I’ve never actually wanted to escape to my room so badly while we had visitors before. The book was calling to me. Yes. I finished it. Now I’m on to the third book:

Thank goodness her fourth book doesn’t come out until August. I might actually get some work done around the house! Maybe I’ll bake some cookies with my children.

Hearts and Skulls…

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Izabelle has never been a “girly-girl” - don’t get me wrong, even at the tender age of 7 she is very feminine.  She claims to like “boy” things.  Izabelle Love’s Dragons, skulls, and Guitar Hero III.   So, I was a little shocked when she picked out this pink shirt while we were shopping the other day.  I let her pick out her own clothes (within reason - I’m not a mom who will let her 7 year old wear “sexy” clothes, not that she’s even remotely interested yet) she did a good job…

Izabelle made it very clear that she wanted to buy “rocker” clothes.  I couldn’t help thinking “Barbie and the rockers” when she chose her little pink shirt with hearts and skulls.   She also found socks with dragons (her personal favorite) “Cool Mom, Dragons! - I know they’re boy socks but can I get them?”

This little 7 year old scored!

Teaching Today!

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

I’m teaching the “Love my Pooch” layout today at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.  It’s weird, this is the first class in awhile that I’m not feelin’.  Usually I really like the way my pages turn out…I think this time I just wasn’t in the groove.  It’s alright, they can’t all be masterpieces, right?

Yesterday was CRAZY!  I had planned to spend the whole day working on craft projects.  Turns out I did nill, nada, nothin…nope, didn’t do ONE darn thing I planned on.  I ended up cleaning and running around town doing what felt like  a MILLION errands….ah, such is life.  I have to admit, even though I didn’t do what I planned  for the day, it was still a great day!

Today I’m hoping to get ”yesterday’s projects” done after I teach…we’ll see if I can actually empliment  a plan today!  Wish me luck!
